To be fair...k and c do remakes of each other's drama too....

But yes...I need them to expand their genre and content

I like rom-coms… doesn’t mean I will like every single one by default. Script needs to be decent, and actors still need to be able to act and have chemistry.

C/K dramas do have remakes. But Thai dramas already have a habit of constantly remaking their own dramas. Now it just looks like they just remake other dramas all the time too

Bright is good-looking & charismatic. If I was a teenage girl, I’d be into his brooding type of good looks too. Why he’s so massively popular I have no idea. His acting is so-so to me, one note at times. Maybe because I didn’t watch his famous drama with Win. I watched a bit of F4 and I understood his appeal though

Bella has chemistry with all her co-stars. Maybe this is ageist of me but I find it hard to ship her with younger guys? Or maybe because I’m not into that noona romance genre. She already has a tendency to look mature so when she’s next to younger guys she somehow looks much older.

Bright’s upcoming movie is with Yaya… so there you go, even when it comes to movies in Thailand, actors get selected for roles based on the size of their fanbase.

Last I heard Taew speak about her contract was after some event a few weeks ago… around the time the news broke about Toey being independent. She said she still had some time to think about it, and meanwhile she’s still shooting her drama with Mario right now.

Since I’m not into BL probably that is why I don’t see all these famous pretty boy. It’s really damaging to acting industry when they select actor and actresses based on their IG followers and fans rather than their true acting capabilities.

The one who doesn’t have it will be left behind as secondary character although much better acting wise.

From promotion point of view, yes it help it get hype but it’s bad, it is still bad.

I think it’s a slippery slope if filmmakers choose stars based on the size of the actor’s fan base. The actor must at least be able to act. Because inexperience and stiffness just looks awkward on tv, but on the big film screen every tiny gesture is magnified. It will be painful watching actors who can’t act. But I guess for producers the large fan base guarantees a willing audience. So they’re willing to take a risk and cast actors based on that.

I’m not into BL too but Bright, Win, Gulf Kanawut (who is a major signing for Ch3 probably) are probably the biggest names from the scene. They get a lot of interest from international brands as well and everyone knows that’s where the money and fame lies.

These guys are basically this generation’s teen idols.

Yeah from the bits of it that I watched I had the same thought too. I wanted to see what the big deal is about the guy. I had the same reaction when I watched Bella’s drama with Peak. There are fans shipping them but when I watched bits of it was painful watching Bella act around him.

Btw, the director of PL also directed Janie & Gulf’s drama.

Actually I suspect that in the eyes of the channel he’s passed the p’ek age limit. They will just relegate him to supporting roles from now on. If that’s the case he might as well go freelance.

He might get more. But I think he also gets to be more selective of which roles he would choose to do. From what I can see as these stars age, time and energy become serious limitations when it comes to doing dramas. I think he has started doing business as well, so would need time for that.

It seems like he's made Thailand his new temporary home after his "legal" issues, and I'm appalled at the videos I see thai fans post still crazing after him, after what he did. And the fact that he ran to Thailand after is gross to me bc why do so many s*x crime offenders always run off to these south east Asian countries to vacation and find "refuge"? It's always then running off to Thailand and continuing their crimes there or running off to the Philippines or some south American country. hope thai fans wake up and shake the hold korean celebrities especially male ones have on them sometimes

They only honestly dared to make all those dramas with corruption stories when cable channels started making dramas. And Netflix. Before when it was just the public channels - KBS, MBC, SBS.. those wouldn’t there.

I’m disappointed there Seungri still has fans. A friend of mine worked as an interpreter for BB during an event. He touched her inappropriately a couple of times at the end of her time working in that event but she was too shocked to do anything. This was at the height of their fame and people did not believe her. She just steadfastly refused to work in their events after that experience. When his case came out, she wasn’t surprised at all. She just felt bad that the details turned out to be that bad.

Great sure has amazing energy. It is sad that now he is largely restricted to "boring" and "safe" male lead roles used to push younger actresses. I feel like he is not given the opportunity to showcase his talent to the fullest and I want him to take on a more challenging role. He would definitely sweep awards left and right were he to star in messed-up storylines like those in Channel 8 or CHANGE. Look at how Oh Anuchit (another talented actor) earned his Nataraj's best actor award for his role in Buang Bai Bun.

Well, there aren’t enough good roles in the first place on Ch3. Most of their scripts are meh. Great made an impression in Phrom Likhit recently though I wish it hadn’t happen via a bad script which made the p’ek look bad. Poor Pope.
