Well hello!! In the past I have written about some of my favorite lakorn KuKwans like Ateam, Tik and Aom, etc. I couldn't leave Yadech out because I love them as much! Therefore I will be having them in this fan-fiction. The concept is a little confusing, trust me, I had to revise it a few times in my head/paper to have it make sense. I haven't written in a while so please mind my grammer/spelling mistakes.
Secondly, this fan-fiction's setting is in Min Island and Yasortorn...I know the island doesn't exist but because of GRGR, it exists in my mind. LOL. I love Min Island a lot, its so pure, peaceful, and beautiful. I wanted another love story on the island. LOL. If you have seen Luerd Kattiya with Aom Piyada and Tik Jesadaporn you would know what Yasortorn is. It is the Kingdom in Luerd Kattiya where Anothai and Princess Darakumari sacrificed their love.
Like mentioned in the Topic Description, this is a period/romance, the year will be 1805 and so on.
CHARACTERS: NADECH KUGIMIYA, YAYA URASSAYA SPERBUND, POPE THANAWAHT WATTANAPHUTI, JA JITTAPA JAMPATOM
CHAPTER 01: ON DANGEROUS GROUNDS
THE KINGDOM OF YASORTORN
Flames blasted out of the wok, Yaya steps away with caution. “Smells excellent.” she told the woman who was adding more herbs into the wok.
Yaya sat on the stool provided by the stall outside and began eating away; she was too hungry to even care how she looked as she started gobbling plate after plate of food. Her trip from Min Island to mainland Yasortorn has been too long, this was her first meal in a foreign place, and it was to her, delicious.
After breakfast, Yaya continued her journey by foot, on the dirt road she walked, unfamiliar with the people and culture of Yasortorn. This was her first time in Yasortorn, voluntarily sent there alone by Min Island’s crown princess Ja Jittapa to purchase the best silk and study the fashion culture of Yasortorn. Yaya’s mother is a well-known seamstress in Min’s court; she passed down her gift of sewing to her daughter who also works for the palace as one of the best seamstress on Min Island. As seamstress of the palace, Yaya is designing all future dresses for the crown princess, including the most valuable wedding gown the crown princess will wear when she and the crown prince of Yasortorn marry. It was her mission to create a beautiful wedding gown for the princess, using ideas from both Yasortorn and Min Island.
For the next two days, Yaya observed what the citizens of Yasortorn wore. Yaya drew many designs onto her sketch book for future ideas. In Yasortorn, lots of goods came from outside of the kingdom, everyone dressed to impress, wearing only expensive things. Most women were in long dresses that covered their feet, very plain but elegant with beautiful lacing on their sleeves and collars. Because this Kingdom is big on trade, most men around were merchants and sailors, even they were dressed well, wearing boots up to their knees, button up jackets or suits. Yaya was in heaven, she has never been so inspired. Meanwhile, many knew she wasn’t from Yasortorn. Yaya wore a shorter sarong and flowered shirt, in fact all her clothes was colored with beautiful beach flowers. While all citizens of Yasortorn wore shoes similar to flats, Yaya was still in her gladiator sandals.
It has been a whole week since she first came to Yasortorn, on the morning of her last day, after breakfast Yaya continued to explore the kingdom for the last time. Again she was on the dirt road with a map in hand, far from the town she was just visiting; she was headed back to the boat dock to catch the noon ferry back to Min Island. The dirt road led her deep into the forest, too far from anyone.
“I know I’m not reading this wrong…unless…this means-“
“Are you lost?” The person’s voice from behind, startled her.
She turned around quickly and was confronted by four men, she spoke clearly to trick them into thinking she was confident. “I know where I’m going, thank you very much.” She lied.
“Eh, you’re not from here, are you?” stepped forward one of the men who seemed to be the leader of the group.
Yaya didn’t answer him and stepped back but he slowly walked to her.
“I was just going to ask if you would like a personal tour guide.” He grinned.
Yaya grinned back at him. “In fact, I am about to leave so a tour guide would be unnecessary.” She turns and starts picking up on her walking.
They follow behind. “I knew you weren’t from here, you have an accent trying to speak our language. You’re a woman traveling alone. Aren’t you a bit scared at all?” said the leader of the gang. “We can protect you…”
Yaya begins to walk faster, they run and gets in front of her. Yaya pulls out a small knife from her dress pocket. “I was trained to use this!”
“I was trained to use this!” the leader mimicked. “Rough, now I really want to know where you are from, where the hell does a place train their women?” he laughs. Two of the guys reach for her arms but Yaya slashes them both with the sharp knife in one rotation.
“Ah!!! Boss, she wasn’t lying, I’m bleeding, really hard too!” cried one of the men, now holding his bleeding wrist. Both the men retreat back to their boss.
“You idiots, how can you be afraid of a woman like this?!” He hits them both with slaps to their faces. Giving full attention to Yaya again, him and the other uninjured man walks towards her, she steps back with her knife held high, looking back and forth from one man to the other, making sure she caught whoever’s first move. Yaya takes a swipe at stabbing the boss when he attempts to grab her but misses, while the other guy grabs both her wrists from behind. He twists her hands so hard until she drops the knife onto the ground.
“Get your hands off me!!” she screams out. Yaya struggles to break away with her hands bound behind her back.
“Ever been with a man from Yasortorn? We are most experienced; I’ll make sure you remember this.”
Yaya spits in his face, he slaps her so hard across the face the man from behind wasn’t able to hold on to her tight enough having her fall to the ground in front of his boss. He brings her to her feet again, her cheek red as can be but she wasn’t close to crying, she was a strong girl.
“Bastard…” she finally uttered.
“You’ll have one as your son…” he chuckles. The leader punches Yaya in the stomach before she could kick him. She drops to the ground, face first.
A powerful voice roared from behind them. “HEY! What are you four doing over there?!”
They all turned around to find some members of the Yasortorn royal army but most importantly it was Crown Prince Thanawaht who was with them on horseback and the one speaking to them.
“Speak! I have asked a question and expect a truthful answer out of it!” yells Thanawaht.
The four men fell to their knees in front of Yaya’s body to hide her presence. “Your highness, please forgive us, we were wrong. Please spare us!”
“I have never accused you of anything, those came out of your own mouths, and I was simply asking what you were doing but since you insisted on doing something wrong, come forth to admit your crime!”
The boss sighed with discomfort and crawled to the side to reveal Yaya’s unconscious body lying on the ground behind the four of them. The only other person on a horse was behind Thanawaht’s horse, Nadech leaned to his side to get a better view of the colorful sarong and flowered shirt on the woman who was lying on the ground.
“You will be punished for your crime, using force to abuse a helpless woman! I can’t spare you for such thoughtless shame to the kingdom! Arrest four of those men and take the woman back to camp.”
While some royal soldiers arrest the four men, Nadech jumped off his horse. He begins walking towards Yaya, his high leather boots made a squeaking noise as he takes each step. With hair nicely combed to the side and in royal uniform, he looked like a prince himself.
“What are you doing cousin?” whispered Thanawaht.
“Surely, the girl will not be riding with you, right?”
Nadech continues to Yaya who was lying unconscious on the ground even after the four men were taken into custody; he knelled and turned her around. Judging by the clothes she was wearing he knew exactly where she was from. Nadech lifted her up in his arms and makes his way back to his horse. Nadech gets back on his horse while another soldier lifts Yaya’s lifeless body onto Nadech’s horse, seating her sideways in front of him. He wrapped his free arm behind her head and placed that hand around her small waist pulling her closest to his chest to support her from falling over. Yaya’s head lay on his arm as they begin their journey back to camp. On the way there, her loose hair flung up, hitting him in the eyes a few times. Really, he couldn’t help but look down at her face, the slap she received earlier left a big bruise. He noticed the silver necklace around her neck which identified her as a servant to the royal family of Min Island.
“All the way from Min Island...”
Yaya opened her eyes and looks up to see a blurry image of Nadech looking down at her necklace. She felt the pain of her stomach again and fell back asleep.
AT THE CAMPSITE-IN THE NURSES TENT
Yaya’s sleepy eyes begin to open when she finally opened them Pope was by her bedside smiling down at her.
“You’re awake.”
“Where am I?” she gasped, “Where are they?” she sat up quickly, her head hitting him right in the nose.
Thanawaht’s image turned blurry for a second due to the hard hit but he finally snaps out of it. “Calm down, no one is going to hurt you.” He covers his nose with his hands.
“But those four men who-“
“No need to worry, they were all arrested.”
Yaya sighed with relief then began looking around in the tent they both were alone in. “I can’t stay here; I must catch the last ferry back!” Yaya jumps out of bed and runs out of the tent. The sky was pitch-black filled only with stars. “No…” she whispered.
Thanawaht steps outside. “I’m afraid the last ferry left already.”
Yaya turns around and gasped, “Your nose…you’re bleeding really hard.”
Thanawaht wipes his nose and saw the blood stains on his hand and chuckles. They go back into the tent and Yaya assists him. She wipes his bloody nose with towels, pressing it against his nostrils to stop the bleeding.
“I’m sorry. I hit you pretty hard.”
“It’s alright.”
Thanawaht intended to take the towel but accidentally grabs her soft hand. For moments they stare at each other.
“Thanks…for making my nose bleed.” He joked.Yaya frowns, trying to not make eye contact. “But really thanks for the help.” He releases her hand.
“I…I think I need to get some fresh air…how about you?” she clears her throat. Yaya walks out of the tent before he could say anything else.
Thanawaht comes out of the tent to join her outside. “You said earlier you had to catch the last ferry, where are you from exactly?”
“Min Island…but I wouldn’t know where it’s located from here; there is forest everywhere you turn."
Thanawaht smiles. “Well, you are in my country’s largest forest. And your home doesn’t have forests like Yasortorn?”
“It does but mostly we are surrounded by the sea, everywhere is water.” She said it so dreamingly.
Thanawaht smiles at the way she says it. He wasn’t sure if any woman in Yasortorn wore their hair like hers, curly and all over the place, he was finding her breathtaking by the minute.
“I wanted to thank you, sir…for earlier…if you weren’t there, I would probably be in a lot of trouble…even shameful to return home.”
“Sir?”
“How impolite of me, how can I not ask the person who saved me their name.”
“No no it’s not that…’Sir’…no one has ever called me this before…you sure you never heard or seen of me?” Yaya shakes her head, she really didn’t know. “I am much more powerful than a nobleman.” He hinted.
“What is your name then?” she asked.
“My name is-“
A whisper from close by was calling for him. “Your highness….where are you?”
Thanawaht panicked, he was having a little fun with her not knowing, now he didn’t want Yaya to know he was the crown prince of Yasortorn just yet. He coughed loud enough for Yaya not to know someone was calling him ‘your highness.’
“Carry on now…” He pushes her back towards the tent. “Just call me Sir for now…Yes, I better get going too, its late and you should get some rest.”
Before the sun was fully up the next morning, Thanawaht picks Yaya up and throws her on his horse, she gets startled, this being her first time on the animal.
“Uh…I don’t know how to control this thing…”
“Don’t worry.” He jumps up and sits behind her.
Yaya shyly looks straight ahead. “W-Where are you taking me?”
“You’ll see. Keep it quiet, we can’t let others wake up.” He whispers.
He takes her to a waterfall far from the campsite. He jumps off his horse and reaches up for Yaya’s hand. She smiles and takes his hand.
“It’s beautiful!” She runs to the banks of the waterfall.
“I’ve had enough hunting days, and a day without bathing is very irritating, how about taking a dip in the waterfall?” He takes off his shirt and jumps into the water. “Come! It feels great!” He swims around then goes under.
Yaya sits on a big rock and dips her toes into the water. Indeed it felt nice. A hand grabs her ankle and he dragged her down in the water regardless of how much she pleaded and screamed not wanting to enter the water. All morning they spent bathing in the water until they went to rest next to a fire he made. Drenched in water, she was fully clothed while he dried his shirt.
“Aren’t you drying your clothes?”
“No…I can just sit by the fire, I’m shivering already…you know, I can’t call you Sir forever if we are to become friends.”
“Are we friends?”
“I would like to think that…besides, you saved my life, how can I not know my savior’s name?”
“My name is Pope.” He gave her the name only his immediate family uses, citizens of Yasortorn call him only by his first name Thanawaht.
“Pope, that has a better ring to it then Sir.” She smiles.
“And yours?”
“Yaya Urassaya.”
“Has an even prettier ring to it.”
“Should we go back? I still need to figure out how to get to the port.”
“I have people who know their way around; I’ll have a map given to you.”
Yaya tries to stand up but instead slips on a slippery rock and falls backwards, luckily Pope was there to save her from completing her fall. She looks up at him, as embarrassed as can be; she didn’t know it he was completely falling in love with her. She knew something clicked inside too. Back at the campsite, everyone was prepared to head back to the palace; Yaya insists she wasn’t returning to camp, she wanted to return to the ferry so she could get back to Min Island as soon as possible. Just outside of the campsite they say their goodbyes.
“…I guess this is goodbye…”
“For now…”
“Right…Thank you…for everything.”
“I hope I can give you a proper tour of Yasortorn when you return.”
Yaya smiles. “I hope so too. I should get going.” She turns around and returns to her journey back home. Pope watched her as she walked farther and farther away from him. Nadech walks up behind him.
“Have you ever met anyone so incredible before?” asked Pope.
“It’s hard when you only meet people who are in the palace.”
“No…I mean someone who breathes a new meaning into life…someone just like her…”
Nadech clears his throat. “You’re telling me, you are falling in love with someone you’ve only known for a day and a half? Isn’t that a little medieval?”
Pope chuckles. “That was only a couple thousand years ago…who knows.” Pope turns around pats Nadech on the shoulder and walks past him. Nadech stands still, his arms crossed over his chest as he watches Yaya’s figure disappear.
