Being popular in Thailand is different than being popular internationally though. Girls like Chom, Yaya, and etc have lots of current work that are being subbed in English and fans can easily follow. Channel 7 lakorns aren't as easy to access for overseas fans.

Also, I don't think Nakee would have been as popular as it was without Taew. Sorry to burst anyone's bubbles. People got into Nakee because of Taew's basically flawless acting. I'm sure there are other actresses that can do well in the role, but no one can make the role shine the way Taew did. To be honest, I think more people associate Nakee with Taew more than anything. Even Ken himself as the pra'ek didn't garner as much buzz as Taew did.

I'm kind of wonder that nowadays Aum Patcharapa is still the number 1 actress in Thailand, but why she doesn't seem to participate in international events like chompoo, praya, and Yaya, etc.?

I seriously don't understand how Aum P is still maintaining the number 1 highest paid actress title in Thailand. I don't hate. I just wonder too since there seems to be other rising actresses BUT they don't seem to beat her yet. Lol.

Sometimes it isn't about rising or not, it is about how big of a name. Aum may not be as active in her lakorn works and such but she is still out there in terms of promos and presentation. Everyone knows her. Just like the Kardashians they are getting paid more than actual blockbuster stars and actual award winning tv actors for their reality shows. The reason? Simply because more people know their name, more than xyz from xyz show.

Really don't know how yaya's name got pulled into this. Sometimes popularity comes with a price. Haven't seen Narkee so can't really comment but hopefully it's just false rumour about yaya being in it. Don't want her to do a sequel or a part two to any drama that is not even a year old yet.

I personally enjoy Taew's acting than Yaya. Taew has the upper hand in that (my opinion of course). Yaya is popular but her acting isn't top notch. I'm not sold in any of her lakorn I've watched yet. Watched but can't in to her character. Bias, I don't know. Seen lots of Taew's lakorn too but her acting is more smoother and not kiddy like Yaya. Perhaps her speech, voice that throws it off for me (Yaya that is).

I just hope they stick to Taew/Ken since it's a sequel to the first one. Fingers cross.

She has worked with lots of different p'ek but always manage to shine even if there isn't a great love story. I'm not into period lakorns but she makes me want to watch all of hers.

If we're talking about Nakee 2, the sequel to the TV drama, then there is no ifs or buts that it would be and should be the same cast.

However, if we're talking about Nakee 2, the movie, where people will have to leave their house and pay money to watch it on big screens then I kinda understand if the producer would want the new cast.
I'm looking from the business perspective, would Thai audiences be willing to pay extra to watch the same cast that they've already seen on TV and will probably be seen again in part 2?

Let's say the producer wanted to cast Mew, Toey, Namtarn, Bella, Weir or Tono in the movie version. Would Thai audiences are curious to check out how these actors/actress will play out their characters?

I'm not sure about Nakee the movie. A lot of people from rural or country side and Esan province watched Nakee on TV, making it a popular lakorn; however, I don't know if many can afford the tickets or many elders who are typical lakorns viewers would want to leave their house and hit the theater in drove.

I agree! Some actresses may shine more for their looks or koojin but Taew definately shine for her talent! Lately Taew is rocking her roles. I am not a Yaya fan but I will not hate either. As far as I know Yaya hasn't had a memorable role/lakorn in my eyes. At least in the high rating like Taew's. They are actresses so the talent should really count!

I've watched Teaw lakorns: The Rising Sun, Mafia Luerd Mungkorn, Dong Poo Dee, etc. and plan to watch Raknakara.
As for Ken, I did checked out Kong Krapun Naree and the Cupids part but didn't watch the whole lakorn.

If talents equal ratings then many Thai actors and actresses would be considered not talented because the ratings of their Lakorns at CH3, CH7, One HD, CH8, Wotkpoint, etc. are low. Many ratings don't even reach 1.

I'm a Yaya fan, and I'm not offended at all. Actually, I would like to thank you all for keeping Yaya's name active.

If I were new here at this forum and came across Yaya's name often in a good or not so good term, I would check this gal out. Some may not care for her acting talent, but many may like for the fact that she is a very well-rounded person. Not only she acts, but she can sing, dance, perform, model, paint, play sports, speak 5 or 6 different languages.

Many people can be popular, but I'm glad Yaya is popular in many good ways or else she will not be consistently on the polls for being people's favorite, celebrities' favorite, good role model, etc., and being on the waited lists of many producers and directors who would like to work with her.
