[Ch3] Rising Sun Series 2: Roy Fun Tawan Duerd (Makers Y)

Hello Daai!

Yadech have had 3 together lakorns so far.

Duang Jai Akkanee was their first lakorn and it was one amongst 4 parts of a series during 2010. The ratings were average but of all the couples in that series, Yadech were no doubt the most popular and were in high demand after that. Their second is Game Rai Game Rak. This lakorn aired during the time where Bangkok was facing problems with flooding so that impacted the ratings. However they were the talk of the town during that time and they captured the hearts of many people, both viewers and actors within the entertainment industry. Their third lakorn is a remake called Toranee Nee Ni Krai Krong. The ratings were decent but the overall feedback wasn't as strong compared to the other two. Generally, their works have done well. They might not have brought in the highest ratings for Channel 3 but they were able to make a name for themselves and create huge tidings. They are the "it" couple of this generation and they've maintained this title for 4 years now.

As for their individual works, Nadech debuted with Ngao Rak Luang Jai. From what I remember, the ratings were decent and many people immediately took interest in Nadech afterwards. He even won Best Rising Actor for one award show even though he wasn't the main lead in there. His other lakorn with Kimberley, Raeng Pradtana did quite well in terms of ratings but it kinda had mixed feedback. Some people thought that Nadech and Kim don't look compatible and don't have chemistry whereas other people liked them. The krasae wasn't as strong as any Yadech lakorn. His latest movie called Koo Gum didn't do well for a few reasons. One, the main actress Richie never had any acting experience before. She was casted because her manager (Richie and Nadech share the same manager) consulted with the production and told them that they can only get Nadech if they agree to cast one of his kids as the lead girl. Technically, she was part of a package deal. The production didn't agree at first but eventually gave in because they really wanted Nadech for the movie. Many people agree that Richie isn't suitable for her role and she's a very stiff and emotionless actress. Another reason why it didn't do too well was because of the way it was directed. I should also mention that the infamous Pee Mak Phra Kanong was airing at the same time. Even though Koo Gum wasn't considered a success, many have praised Nadech for his suitability as Kobori.

On the other hand, Yaya debuted in a lakorn called Kularb Rai Narm. She did another lakorn and sitcom before this but the lakorn was never broadcasted for an unknown reason. The ratings were decent but I should mention that a lot of attention was on Ploy instead because even though she's the nang rai (antagonist), she's pretty much considered as the main character because the story revolves around her. The title of the lakorn refers to her character too. What's interesting is that a very talented senior actress, Benz Pornchita saw Yaya on screen for the very first time and called the producer of Kularb Rai Nam, P'Pin and told her, "This young girl will definitely become popular". Sure enough, Benz was so right. It was Duang Jai Akkanee that brought Yaya to stardom and many magazines have labelled her as the new princess of the industry. So many people were amazed at how she was able to portray Jeed so well since this character is a big contrast to her role in Kularb Rai Nam. Later on, she acted in Tawan Deurd with Mark Prin. The feedback was quite okay and it did extremely well with ratings. It got 16 on the ending episode which is Yaya's best thus far. At one point, Mark's fans were fighting with Nadech's fans because they wanted Yaya as Mark's koo kwan. haha. Maya Tawan and Dao Reung are Yaya's latest works and both did okay. Dao Reung started very well in the beginning but the ratings dropped half way and then went up. Maya Tawan started a little weak but it worked it's way up and at the end, got a double digit for the last episode. An important note to make is that both of these lakorns are remakes and Dao Reung was quite loved by the rural population.

I hope this helps you.

Daai - Yadech had Duang Jai Akkanee, Game Rai Game Rak, Thoranee Nee Ni krai Krong and soon Roy fun tawan Duerd. You can find the eng subs for these under i believe LakornsCrack on Youtube. You will love all. I did not watch the one with yaya and mark but i did enjoy Rang Pradtana with Nadech & Kimberly. I also did not watch Nadechs first lakorn with Mark & Mint N. Idk the name of it either, sorry! I was sad to hear Koo Gum did not do well either with Nadech & Richie. I believe majority did not care for the nang'ek, directing & some acting. I still wanna see it but just waiting on eng subs.

Thanks HSDSfan! You did a heck of a better job explaining! Haha

Your welcome everyone   :) I just wanted to help out and be as thorough as possible. Since I shared insights on Yadech's works, I thought it'd be appropriate to share some thoughts on Yaya from different people in the industry too. I'm someone who likes reading interviews and sometimes I'd translate them into English for future reference. Hope you all don't mind. I'm sharing this because I find that most of these people say similar things about Yaya.

Preem Ranida:
She would like to tell us about her 3 favorite actresses. The last person on the list is a senior actress who isn’t too far away in age from her and whom she adores very much. It’s to the point where that person came and liked a picture on Preem’s Intstagram and she screamed in excitement for 3-7 days. Her personal manager (Ploy) told this to us while Preem herself was shy and just nodded in agreement. She reveals that “I like P’Yaya Urassaya very much ka. She’s very cute. I don’t just like her for that reason only because with that reasoning, everyone in the industry is nice. But P’Yaya is someone with a lot of tolerance. It’s obvious that she truly loves her job.  I look at her and think to myself, she is someone who sees the value in the things that she does. She's also very talented, versatile and charming.”

Patricia Good:
“As for me, I have my own idols as well. They are Chompoo Araya and Yaya Urassaya. Both are very successful people. Their acting is really good and they have the ability to get along with everyone. With P’Yaya, at first she couldn’t really speak Thai fluently. However, she practiced and persevered until she’s able to be here today which shows she’s extremely talented. I must work hard like her. Yaya also has a good image and understands the importance of self image”.

Nok Chatchai:
“Would like to borrow this picture from P’Somrak. Nong is very skilled. She causes us to fully believe in her performance. In the status of a viewer, I would like to compliment her more than this but I’m not brave ei ei. ” (This is a caption that P’Nok wrote along with the picture that he uploaded of Yaya from Maya Tawan)

“I picked Yaya for this role not because of her popularity. There are many actresses in Channel 3 who are more popular and experienced but why didn’t I choose someone else, it’s because of one reason. In my viewpoint, Yaya is an actress with development. She has the ability to get this role and is fully suitable and things really turned out that way. Even though she never had previous experiences with action lakorns, she’s very calm and mature so she’s well matched with this character. Yaya is born to be an actress. I’d say I’m lucky to have worked with her.

Mam Thithama
I am very proud seeing Yaya portraying Dao Reung. She has exceeded my expectations of her. I can’t believe that Yaya is such a tough and
strong girl. The more she acts, the more she transforms herself into a little boy. I was concerned that after this lakorn, Yaya might not be a nang aek again (laughs). In this lakorn, the viewers will be able to see two angles of Yaya, from the prettiest and the ugliest. Even I am astonished and amazed at her performance. Yaya is an actress that can act everything that is asked of her and is never scared or not willing to do something. She always puts 100% and her best efforts into everything. I am very pleased.

Paajaew:
“Regarding Yaya, Firstly, I have to mention that nang aeks are like second priority to me (laughs). I would take less care of them compared to praeks. However, in this lakorn, I take good care of Yaya. I feel like I have my first daughter. She’s very cute, hard working and proper. She respects us elders, has good spirit and good discipline and because of those reasons, we (Paajaew & P’Mam) love her. In the underwater kiss scene, initially we were going to use camera angle but it was difficult so we had to do a real kiss. Yaya didn’t refute at all”.
Source: Premium Magazine

“She is definitely a nang aek and a versatile actress who can do anything whether it be drama, comedy, cutesy and if she trained, she'd be able to do
action as well. She’s like Mew Lalita who can play anything given. She didn't intend to be an actress but with the help from her mom and her good preparations, she's able to do a lot such as horse riding. She is very similar to Mew in her days. Yaya was born to be a nang aek."
*I forgot the source but fans from pantip shared this a while back

Weir Sukollawat:
“I have watched Yaya’s lakorns before and she is talented. She is someone who tries to improve herself all the time. The most important quality of Yaya is that she is someone who really respects and appreciates those who have guided her. This attribute will help her stay in this industry for a long time, I guarantee.”

-- It's cute how so many younger actresses view Yaya as their idol. There are many other actresses in Yaya's generation such as Taew, Kim, Margie, Chalida, Min, Davika.. .. yet it's her that people choose to admire and follow. I think that says a lot. It might have to do with the fact that many girls these days are half caste and don't speak Thai fluently so when they see someone who was once in the same situation but was able to become successful, they see that as motivation for them to achieve the same thing. She also seems to be a cult favorite amongst many producers in Channel 3. Even those who have criticized her before or never worked with her also acknowledge her good work ethics like King Somching, Noi Bussakorn, Nong Arunosha and Off Pongpat.

@daai hi :) im not quite sure about this , but what i do know is that nadech first film Koo Gum gained a lot of attention and besides our oppa barry and richie were only rookies in terms of the big screen ... still so proud of our Nadech... he is a perfect kobori ! i got this online

Over the Songkran holiday weekend, ‘Koo Gum’ suffered a major drop in revenue while the horror-comedy ‘Pee Mak…Pra Khanong’ is still holding strong at the number one spot taking in 69.4 million baht. The film is a smash hit and has already made 400 million baht, currently it is ranked as the second highest grossing Thai film of all time behind The Legend of Suriyothai.
Thailand Box Office 11-14 April 2013
Films:
1 Pee Mak…Pra Khanong (GTH) 69.4 million baht (total 379.2 million baht)–by Tuesday news broke out it made 400 million baht
2 Oblivion (UIP) 19.9 million baht (New)
3 Koo Gum (M๓๙) 6.2 million baht (total 37.9 million baht)
4 G.I.JOE RETALIATION (UIP) 4.9 million baht (total 106.1 million baht)
5 THE CROODS (FOX) 3.0 million baht (total 13.2 million baht)
from my view when i saw this review "the hero dies in the end. It went too fast, Thai audiences complained. " they were just complaining because our handsome hero kobori (nadech) died .. and i feel that thai viewers hate seeing sad endings and that's my conclusion :secret: . WHATEVER THEY SAY !!! KEEP LOVING NADECH !! be proud ! :) i so love his acting !  :dance1:

Chompoo: Yaya's smile can bright up the day because it came from her heart. It's the most sincere smile.
OOPS: If you can ask Yaya one question, what would it be?
Chompoo: I want to ask her if she really went to dinner date with Nadech? I didn't want to know ok Yaya but oops forced me to ask lol

OOPS: If you can switch body with someone who would that be?
Boy: Yaya because I want to be Nadech's leading lady. I want to pull Nadech's chest hair. I saw Yaya like to do it and I want to do it too. Nadech won't let me do it, he only let Yaya lol

Wow, woke up to wonderful pics and articles! Thanks everyone! Why wasn't Nadech a part of the Oops magazine? Does anyone know? Did he stop by or was he just mentioned in the article? Because I noticed the pic of him in the light brown blazer is from the H&M event, and the one in the grey suit is from another event. Anyway, I love Chompoo and Boy Pakorn! They are always teasing Yadech! Hahaha. I feel like everyone in the ET industry knows that Yadech's a couple, but it's an unspoken rule that no one rats on each other.

Anyway, the pic of Nadech with the blanket is hilarious! I think he was mocking his nong for always being cold. Lol. Thanks everyone for the updates! Charlenem, Lovely_K - Thanks for all the wonderful pics! Lovely_K, Ausa - Thanks for translating as well! Hsdsfan, great job on summarizing Yadech's filmography! MrsChum, you're so lucky to meet up with other Yadechers and swap items!!! Is anyone else here from the east coast / mid west?!! Anyway, Meysaelee, I hope you're okay!!! Su su the storm ka!
