LOL I find the aroma quite interesting...smells as bad or worst than poop but yet, so tasty when added and cooked with various oriental delicacies. As for how it's made, ughhh I try not to think of the bacteria infestation in that jar when chomp'n on my papaya salad ^_^

It's good stuff, especially when made right. Bou Hok Kthes (the coconut version) is the best! I like Bou Hok with eggs and chopped pork as well. It's tasty...
