Yep, compromising is sometimes the best route and of course it never hurts to use common sense...Most don't like the idea of being controlled by their significant others ehhh unless you are the submissive type...

there are also alot of men who let women control them. Its unhealthy for a relationship when one person has too much control. Losing sometimes isn't bad in a relationship esp if you let the other person win. But have to balance it out.. too much and the other person may go on a powertrip.

it's a matter of empowerment. not every girl is in a position to stand up for herself all the time. sometimes, abusive relationships are more complicated than how we see it. even the strongest and most aggressive of us woman, may find ourselves in that position and not even know it. yes, it's about power for the guy; but it's also about so many other complex things for the female (ie. love, insecurity, financial unstability, children, fear, etc...). so many factors to take into account.
hopefully, women who find themselves in those situation may someday come across a source of empowerment to free themselves. hopefully... -_-

aniwaise... i totally agree with dfemc on why some woman let or find themselves in this kind of abusive situations. i personally was and still is angry with woman who get hospitalized due to abuse from their spouse. their reasons for putting up with their spouse didn't make sense to me at first... complaining about their children... financial situations... and etc... the best thing i can do is listen and call the woman's shelter (where my sister works!) and let them come talk to her. and i have to say that 1 out of 3 patients go back to living in the same situation! and i do see the same patient again in the hospital where the diagnosis is catergorized under abuse....
