Summary
So then it happened. She had ripped his heart out time after time 'till there was nothing left he could ever do to glue it back together again. Her smile, her laughter, lingered in his memory. So then when his cousin comes back, everything changed. He treated her more than "just cousins", knowing that they were not blood related. Although it may seem mean and harsh, but the truth was that she loved him with all her heart as well...until she met his younger brother.
How could ever so different people try living in the same country, the same town, the same neighborhood?
Although she had her reasons, he didn't think of them worthy of his love. But he couldn't forget HER. Her smile, her laughter...
What could he do but pretend that she wasn't there...that she was gone from his life forever?
And she...who had broken many people's hearts. Why was she doing all of this? Was there a reason for her actions?
Prologue
He opened his eyes, staring out in the darkness. He tried to recall what had happened, but couldn't. Everything of the day before ran through his mind on fast forward. Although he remembered parts of this and that, he did not know where he was, nor did he know what he was going to do. All he knew was that she wasn't with him anymore. She had left him in the middle of nowhere. Sighing, he took out his cellphone and dialed a number he knew by heart.
Pinky: [answers] Hello? Pinky speaking.
Ken: Ky, it's me Ken. You see, I need your help. I'm kind of lost...
Pinky: [surprised] P'Ken? Where are you? I came back from London and you weren't home.
Ken: Well, someone ditched me in the middle of nowhere. [thinks] Can you get Dad on the phone?
Pinky: [confused] Your dad or my dad?
Ken: [sighs] My dad, you silly little girl!
Pinky: I'm not a little girl anymore, you know...
Ken: [smiles] You'll always be my little girl.
Pinky: [makes a face] Eww, it sounds like you're my dad or something!
Ken: Ky, get my dad on the phone...
Pinky: Oops, forgot. Once second. [looks around] Uncle! Uncle, you there? [into the phone] I don't think he's home.
Ken: [groans] Is your dad home?
Pinky: No, he went out with my mom, somewhere. [pauses] Why, P'Ken? Can I pick you up?
Ken: Ky, you just came back. [chuckles] Can you even drive?
Pinky: Hey, stop judging people by the way they looked the last time you saw them! I'm older now, ok?
Ken: Ja, ja. I'm not going to question you anymore. [thinks] I'll call you back when I have somewhere you can pick me, ok?
Pinky: Ka, P'Ken.
Ken: Thanks na, Ky.
Pinky: You're welcome. [ends call]
Ken looks around and spots a car. He flags the car to stop it.
Ken: [shouts] Hey! Excuse me!
The passerby rolls down the window and pokes his head out.
Ken: Mr, can you help me by telling me where this is?
Passerby: Near Chonburi, why?
Ken: [sighs] I'm kind of lost...
Passerby: Going to Krungthep?
Ken: [nods] Krub.
Passerby: [smiles] Well, you can come with me.
Ken: [brightens up] Really? Thanks.
Passerby: You're welcome. [starts driving] So, where's your house?
Ken: Platinum City krub.
Passerby: [raises an eyebrow] Isn't that where the rich people live? Are you a driver or something?
Ken: [smiles nervously] Uh, no krub. My name is Teeradeth Wongpuapan...
Passerby: [brakes] You're one of those filthy rich hisos?
Ken: Well, kind of. [nervous] If you don't want to send me, I understand.
Passerby: [hesitates] It's ok, I'll send you. [continues to drive]
3 hours later.
Ken thanks the man and rings on the doorbell. Pinky quickly ran out of the house and to the front gate.
Pinky: [squinting] P'Ken, is that you? [unlocks door]
Ken: Yes, it's me- [surprised when he see's Pinky's face]...Ky?
Pinky: [smiles] Ahuh, me. Wow, I've changed, haven't I?
Ken: [hugs Pinky] Yes, you have! Aww, my li- I mean...uh, Ky. You've grown!
Pinky: [smirks] I have, haven't I?
Ken: [tries to forget everything] Of course you have, Ky!
Pinky: So how did you come back without getting me to go pick you up?
Ken: There was this man who was on the road and was nice enough to send me here.
Pinky: [drags Ken inside] Let's go, P'Ken.
Inside the house...both Pinky's parents and Ken's dad were home. Pinky sat on the vacant sofa across from her parents.
Ken's dad: How come you came without noo Aum, huh?
Ken: [keeps quiet] Uh- [sits down next to Pinky]
Pinky's dad: Ken, you ok right? Did Ky do anything obnoxious?
Ken: [shakes head] Nope, amazingly she didn't.
Pinky: What? Amazingly? P'Ken!
Ken: [smiles] Joking, Ky. You're so cute when you're angry.
Pinky: [blushes] ...uh, I'm going to go upstairs.
Pinky runs up the stairs and trips, banging her head on the rail. Everyone hurries to the stairs, surrounding Pinky.
Pinky's mom: [panicking] Ky! Ky, you ok?
Pinky: [holds her head] Uh...yeah....I'll...be fine ka.
Ken's dad: Noo Ky, you sure?
Pinky: [nods] Ka.
Ken lifts Pinky off the floor and brings her to her bedroom.
Pinky: [smiles] ...thanks na ka.
Ken: You're welcome, silly girl. One, two, three! [swings Pinky onto the bed]
Pinky: Ouch! P'Ken, that hurt! [hits Ken]
Ken: [smiles] Ky, Ky, Ky! Stop hitting me!
Pinky: Why, huh? [continues to hit Ken] Does it hurt? Does it hurt, huh?
Pinky accidentally falls on Ken. Their eyes meet. Pinky's mom comes into the room, surprised.
Ken: [quickly gets off of Pinky] Auntie, I...uh-
Pinky's mom: [sighs] It's ok. [turns to Pinky] Better, Ky?
Pinky: [blushes] Mom!
Pinky's mom: [turns to Ken] Ken...
Ken: [gets up] Krub, krub, krub. [hurries out]
