Lakorn recommendations?

I haven't been watching many lakorns for a few years now. But now I'm ready for more drama. I'm very behind. There are so many new actors too. Could you guys please recommend any lakorns that are worth the watch. If you could please include the actors and a very short summary, I'd greatly appreciate it! I'm not a huge fan of the teeny bopper actors (to me, they include Pinky, Kwan etc - sorry to their fans!) However, if the storyline is decent and I'm bored, I'll give it a shot. So far, I have seen most of the lakorns on Wishboniko's youtube page. Cheers in advance!

* underlined ones are worth giving a try :)
In a few years? Erm I guess my favorites have been Oom Ruk, Sawan Biang, King Gor Rah Kah Gor Raeng, Jam Leuy Ruk(never seen it but EVERYONE loved it), Dong Poo Dee, Mon Ruk Kao Tom Mud, Dung Duang Harutai, Klin Kaew Klang Jai, Ruk Nee Hua Jai Rai Jong, Rahut Rissiya, Ruk Leh Sanae Luang, Kaew Tah Pee, Raem Pissawad, Jao Sao Barn Rai, Mafia Tee Ruk, Jom Jai, Jaew Jai Rai Gub Koon Chai Taewada, Jao Ying Lam Sing, Dao Bpeun Din, Bpom Ruk Roy Adeed, Nang Tard, Saeng Soon, Roy Adeed Heng Ruk, Hua Jai Sila, Yok Lai Mek, and last but not least Wong Wian Hua Jai.
Oom Ruk(Ann*Ken)- Ann is a model/actress, she goes to a party, got drunk and pr'ek happens to be there too because he's a photographer. That one night, they slept together and then Ann becomes pregnant. Later they... I guess start living together because Ken has to take responsibility for his actions. While they're living together, even through all of the bickering and fights/misunderstandings, they fall in love with each other without realizing so. (Comedy/Romance)

Sawan Biang(Ann*Ken)- ... I'm pretty sue you know the storyline. This one was a 2008 remake.

King Gor Rah Kah Gor Raeng(Oil*Kwan)- Oil's fiance's father get's Kwan's sister pregnant and I guess Kwan wanted to do something about it? Oil's mom really likes Kwan and his mother is mentally "ill" too so Oil had to may Kwan. In the begining of their marriage, Oil did nothing but cheat on her with his ex. Kwan didn't really care I think but they ... Yea, so she becomes pregnant and the story goes on from there(Drama..-ish)

Jam Leuy Ruk(Aff*Aum Atichart)- Yet another 2008 remake.

Dong Poo Dee(*Mart*Taew)- Mart is "supposedly" Taew's uncle in here. He's about 10-15 years older than her? Maybe even 20. But Taew's mother was accused of having an affair while she was pregnant with Taew, so she was kicked out of the house. Later, her mother dies and her "father" found he and took he back into her real fathers house and promised to come back for her, but he never did. She lived in that house her entire life going through all the hatred and whatnot.(Period/Drama)

Mon Ruk Kao Tom Mud(Pat*Film)- Their grandparents arranged for them to marry or get engaged, but these two have been enemies since they were little kids. They already have their own lovers so they made a deal agreeing to help the other person hooked up with their lover so their parents won't force them to marry each other any more. As always, when pr'eks and n'eks are together like this, they fall in love.(Comedy)

Dung Duang Harutai(Kwan*Weir)- This was a 2007 remake... maybe 2008, not sure.

Klin Kaew Klang Jai(Rome*Rita)- It had something to do with Rita's mother having Rita but was taken away at birth by this other lady that hated Rita's mom or something. So Rita was sent in replacement for this other girl to take care of Rome because he's blind now. So Rome though that the person taking care of her throughout all of these times was Aey.(Romance-REALLY good lakorn ;) )

Ruk Nee Hua Jai Rao Jong(Ken*Jannie)- Jannie's a model and her mom is so hungry for money. So her mom sold Jannie to this guy and Jannie attempted to run away. She jumps into the ocean and meets with Ken who was fishing. They're stranded in this island while they're still being hunted down. They have all of these crazy adventures and they always try to sell each other out because they don't really get along.(Comedy/Romance- REALLY GOOD :D )

Rahut Rissiya(Noon*Paul)- Noon's parents died and they're bankrupt now because of Paul's father and her aunt. So Noon's taking revenge by getting Paul to marry her.(Revenge/Drama- GOOD ^_^ )

Ruk Leh Sanae Luang(Por*Ploy*Viki)- Por plays as a twin. One very soft and friendly, the other tough. They have different mothers but the same father and so they swap lives with each other and one of them becomes blind? I don't remember(Romance)

Kaew Tah Pee(Tik*Cherry)- Tik gets into a car accident and he's now blind. Cherry was a school teacher and finds out her boyfriend already has a wife. She goes far far away and tries to kill herself. Tik happens to walk by and accidentally pushes her off the ramp. They get to know each other from then on and Tik really likes her so he makes up a lie telling her to marry him because he needs someone to take care of him while he goes to London for a surgery. Being as kind as she is, Cherry agrees and follows him.(Romance- TOTALLY RECOMMENDED!)

Raem Pissawad(Pat*Paul*Noi)- It's a period drama where Noi wants to get rich so she puts a spell on this guy that already has a family. Pat's mother gets kicked out to the small cottage while having Pat. Can't really explain but it's a really crazy movie. At least give the first 1-2 episodes a try.(Period/Drama)

Jao Sao Barn Rai(Por*Namfon)- Namfon's poor and her house is now Por's, I think. Por really likes her and they got married or something. It's those type of dramas where pr'ek gets really jealous and starts doing "things".(Romance- give it a try ;) )

Mafia tee RUk(Pat*Chakrit*Por*Pita)- Pat's father likes to gamble a lot. He went to Hong Kong and played in Chakrit's casino until he had no money o credit left so Chakrit persuades him to give Pat to him because he "fell in love" with her when he went to Thailand. Pat runs away from these mafias and bumps into Por. Por falls in love with her while they were living together for awhile. Pat eventually gets kidnapped and Por tries to rescue her.(Romance, Comedy, Action- GOOD)

Jom Jai(Paul*Benz*Aff*Au*Dome*and this other girl)- Give it a try.(Dram/Period)

Jaew Jai ai Gub Koon Chai Taewada(Aum Patcharapa*Pei Arak)- Aum's grandmother falls ill and asks for Aum to take care of Pei. Pei is unloved and misunderstood by his father. His stepmom and her son finds every way to get rid of him. Aum comes in to "train" Pei and take care of him.(Comedy/Romance- relaxing lakorn :p )

Jao Ying Lam Sing(Pinky*New)- Pinky's a princess and has to take the thrown, she loses her memory and only knows that she loves music. New takes care of her while she tries to remember who she is. At this point, people from the Palace are trying to find her and some secretly trying to kill her. She later becomes very famous because of her talent in singing.(Comedy/Romance/Action)

Dao Bpeun Din(Chompoo*Noon*Vee)- Two girls fighting for one guy. Very intense drama.(Drama- recommended)

Bpom Ruk Roy Adeed(Kwan*Win)- Try the first 1 or two episodes out.

Nang Tard(Kob*Vee*Yui)- 2008 remake.

Saeng Soong(Chakrit*Bee Namtip*Fang)- Chakrit plays as a twin and ever since they were young, Bee's always wanted Saeng Soon(a house with this "magical room all girls wish to have"). She grows up trying to fight for that fortune by marrying one of the twins. One of them really loves her but he's dorky while the other is perfect in every aspect. But he realizes that his brother loves her so he couldn't marry her or something. She still tries to find every way to get it.(Period/Drama)

Roy Adeed Heng Ruk(Bie*Mew)- TRY IT OUT :D !!

Hua Jai Sila(Bie*Fang)- Give it a try ;)

Yok Lai Mek(Jannie*Rome)- It was just aired and ended yesterday. Don't feel like explaining it but it was a decent lakorn.

Wong Wian Hua Jai(Pinky*Weir)- You should really try this lakorn. Pinky comes back from Europe, I think, and finds out her boyfriend is marrying someone else. She gets drunk and was about to get raped by this other guy but Weir comes into save her. When she wakes up, she doesn't listen to Weir and assumes that he was the one that raped her. Weir sister is really depressed because her husband is still in love with Pinky, so Weir takes this opportunity to asks for Pinky's hand in marriage. Pinky denies but her parents don't because they don't want Pinky messing around with someone else's husband. Weir's doing this for his sister and because... I guess he truly likes Pinky at the moment and realizes later that he's fallen for her. (Romance- currently airing! At least give the first episode or 2 a try even though you don't like Pinky)

In ABC order:

Botan Gleep Sudthai lol you mentioned seeing most of Wishboniko's sub but I still want to put it on the list as well. Maybe someone else needs the recommendation :D I love this lakorn. A typical life lesson lakorn and with a good typical moral yet very refreshing.

Dong Poo Dee is one of my favorites too. If you expect romance, this is not for you. (Mart&Taew) Taew, I guess you can still call her a newbie but she is an excellent actress compare to Pinky and Kwan.

Klin Kaew Klang Jai is very cliche but definitely has its own unique. (Rome&Rita)

Mae Ka Kanom Wan is very relaxing and HILARIOUS. It does contain drama but it's very light. (Mart&Cherry)

Oum Ruk is extremely sweet and funny but there are a few scenes that does make your blood boil. (Ken&Ann)

Saab Poosah is another good romance with some horror. Not a lot of misunderstanding between the pra nangs and the graphic and special effect is not as bad as others. (Aun&Ae)

Sawan Bieng 2008 is one of my all time favorites. A lot of people didn't like it because of the repetitive rape scenes, but acting is 100% awesome! Ken portrayed his complicated Kawee character extremely well. I swear you can feel their emotions especially Kawee. (Ken&Ann)

Yok Lai Mek is just awesome. You will love the leads cause they're not your typical pranangs. There is about 2 episodes that sort of boring but does not dragged. Just wish they had extended another episode to fully develop Andrew and Sara's relationship. (Rome&Janie)

I don't want to just list all Ch3 lakorns but I can't seem to think of a Ch5 or Ch7 lakorn that I could recommend or should I say stand out to me.

Well I am starting on Kom Faek. I am not a huge action lakorn flick (I find action lakorn flick kind of corny but some I can bear to watch through lol) but Thailand and majority of the sarnies love it, but I am still iffy but you can give it a try. I can't give a summary because I haven't seen it seen it lol but so far with what I have seen. Noon's brother (Kelly) is the bad guy who I guess Por (Noon's bf atm) doesn't know. Okay that might not even be right since I am still on the beginning of episode 1.

Oh this one I love everything about it- Rahut Rissaya!!! (Paul&Noon)

Oh Waew Sieng Seung is a tear jerker for sure and intense drama. Yui's mother suicide (jumped off a cliff) after a heart-break. Her so call husband already has a wife, so she returns back to her home in the countryside. Tae's mother is sort of friends with Yui's mother. Tae's grandfather is like the chief village, who disowned her daughter because she got pregnant before marriage and ya di da (lol) he goes pay a visit but the grandfather refuse to aknowledge Tae as his grandson. He meets Yui, goes back home. Showed picture to his so call uncle which is Yui's biological dad (Yui's photo resembles Yui's mother funny thing is that Yui played both roles lol). He's shock, goes to the countryside to ask his daughter to return. Yui's grandmother dies, so she decided to go live with her dad. She meets bitchy step mom and sisters and intense drama starts there. lol

Thanks heaps for all the short summaries and helpful links!!! I will definitely check out the websites you guys have suggested and there are some pretty good stories that have caught my attention, so I will be trying very hard to catch up. It won't take me too long though, coz when I watch thai movies, I fast forward A LOT!

Yeah, I haven't been watching thai movies for a few years. I think 3 or 4 years. I used to love watching it when I was in high school, but when I stated uni, I just lost interest. But now, I've graduated and started working and after a stressful day at work, it's really good to come home to a good Thai lakorn haha! Can't wait to get started!

Aww, I wonder if I could be like you. I couldn't imagine my life without something like an Asian drama, even when I get to college.

Of course you can. Once you get into uni, you become involved with so many different societies. Your program will have an association and the student president of that association is always organising pub crawls or bbqs or some excuse to party. I was apart of the student organisation and was involved in several of the functions that were organised. Eventually, you have no more time for thai movies. Working is just as great. We usually end the week with some drinks at the pub with your workmates. Study hard. Thai movies will always be there.

Ok, so I have been watching a few lakorns. Bits and pieces here and there. Seu Rak chak yai olawan with Noon and Aon, Gae Roy Rak with Rita and Rome and Wong Wiern Hua Jai with Weir and Pinky.

Actually, the one with Weir and Pinky is making me laugh like crazy. I don't know if it's the acting or if it is just funny. However, this is the first time I have watched a movie with Pinky. I have always avoided her movies before. I don't mind Weir. Though this is the first time I have seen his movie too. Has he played in movies before, but as the p'ek friend or something? He looks familiar. I think he's alright. As for Pinky, she looks so small. So little, like a little girl. But oh wells, the story is not so bad, so I think I can continue watching for now.

I have seen Dong Poo Dee. I like Mart, but I fast forward a lot in this movie. I think I finished it in 2 or 3 days. I also watched a bit of Botan Gleep sudtai but didn't like it much. Honestly, I just can't stand watching Thai movies based on Chinese culture. Sorry, I am a teensy weensy bit picky. I also watched Saab Poo sah. I think Tanyarat reminds me of Paula Taylor in the movie. Anyone else agree? But the story was good.

Anyway, thanks once again for all the recommendations. I will go and look up some more of these movies while I wait patiently for more uploads of the current ones I am watching. Geez, there are so much to catch up on. I'm going to watch the one with Chakrit and Tanyarat now. I just finished watching the one with Chakrit and Ann.

Ahh, I believe that Weir was never a supporting pr'ek. Though he did play in 1 or 2 lakorns where it was bunched up with all of these other Ch7 pr'eks and n'eks. I didn't watch that one though.

Are you watching subbed lakorns? O_O

Hi Kristy

You know in the movie with Willy and Ann where she plays as Princess Ariya? There is a guy in there called Prince Marky?? He looks like Weir. Is it him?? I'm sure I've seen Weir in at least 2 other movies where he is not p'ek but I just can't quite put my finger on it. Otherwise, this guy sure looks like Weir. Actually, I am watching the movies in Thai.

I've finished watching Mafia Tee Ruk and at first the story was good, then it dragged, but the ending was good. I REALLY LOVE the song by Cake - Plae wah took yang. Especially the piano. I'm going to try and learn to play it haha!! I think the guy who sings it has a good voice. I don't know who Cake is though. Does anyone know where I can download it? I also like the song in Wong Wein Hua Jai.

Anyway, still got heaps more movies to catch up on. But I am almost done watching the movies everyone has recommended!! Talk about a movie marathon! Thank goodness for youtube hey?
