A FILIPINO man who has lived his life attached to a dead TWIN is deciding if he should go under the knife and finally have it cut away, reports say.
Medical phenomenon Rudy Santos – known as Octoman – has four arms and three legs, while suffering one of the rarest conditions known to man – a parasitic twin.
The 55-year-old – once famous for his freak show appearances during the 70s and 80s – has lived in poverty for ten years.
He is the oldest parasitic twin in the world and will now face medical opinion for the first time from the Philippines’ foremost authority in conjoined twin separation – Vicente Gomez.
Medics will perform a series of examinations to find out how his twin is formed and what of his twin exists – if it has a spine and organs, it has been reported.
He will also find out if surgery is possible for him at this late age.
Rudy has three legs and four arms, although one of his legs is missing below the knee.
His twin also has a head consisting of an ear and a small patch of hairy scalp, attached at his sternum.
His journey is the subject of a TV documentary due to be show on the Discovery Channel on Thursday, October 23.
