wow i just read this whole thread lol... and went to lunch and came back to read more lol...

When I was in Laos .. I heard of 'pee mae mhai' and 'pee bop' around my mom's village. One of my aunt got scare of the 'pee mae mhai' to the extent that she color (ta lep) her son finger nails red. Why she did it .. I don't know but she said that it will keep the 'pee mae mhai' away from her son ...

As for my ghostly experiences ... never had none that I know of ... Just strange feeling that someone is watching or next to me.
a logical explanation to why she painted the child's (her son's) nails is because the ghost will either see the little boy as a girl with polished nails... or the other is, see the little boy as a feminine boy (gay) and will not take her son away. that's the best way to see it.

i believe there are spirits and ghosts, i love watching shows like ghost hunters and such too. however i've never really encountered or have seen one... well maybe i have and not realized it?

i was told that thailand has ghosts all over, wandering the streets, and residing in the vacant buildings and houses. i've drove by sooooo many while i was in thailand, and i didn't see anything. while the people i've stayed with in thailand are scared shitless of ghosts, they don't even go to the toilet alone at night, and it's um a bathroom connected to their rooms HAHAH!! :p

there was once, when i was in the rural, roi et in thailand, i went to shower alone, it was a house that was newly built, it belongs to my ex bf's sister. she died just when they finished building the house, but not painted, basically 85% done. the bathroom and shower worked, and it's more industrial than his mom's so i went to shower there. my ex wasn't around so i didn't bother to wait for him because he make me wait for him to shower. (he'd sit outside as i showered, and vice versa)... and i'm not scared of ghosts... more of rats. so i was showering and i heard steps.. and a knock on the door. it was a light knock so i knew it was his nephew (or was it haha i've never asked). but when i went back inside the house (his mom's, which is next door), the nephew asked, did you hear anything, so i'm 100% sure it's him hahah little riot. but when my ex came back home, he asked u shower yet? i'm like yes, he's response OMG why didn't u wait for me!?! i'm like um it's late and i'm hot, and so he was like fine, forget it... i'll just shower here. ahahah... man, i felt i've committed a crime for not waiting for him.

but yea, besides that fake "spook" not much to the other world for me.

This is TOO scary. i stoped reading on page 2 .5

Well, i was wondering tho. like every now and then i would have nightmares that takes place in our old house. BTW ive never spoken of this to ANYONE but my mom. TeeHee. And its like uknow how you always hear people say that when they sleep, they feel as if something is on top of them? Well mines arent like that like having someone on top of you. But like, i forgot, but i remember i saw something in my dream, but i tried screaming but it was impossible. it ALWAYS take place at my old house. So far this year it has happened twice ibelieve. Long ago while living there too, my doggie who was BIG like probably 2-3 ft tall, and she was dark and shaggy haired. lol. shes real nice but gets jealous. She lived in our backyard next to the window of my moms room which was later changed to my sisters. But anywais, the dog was loose and i had to run after the dog who was the same size as me. i was probably 6 or 7 yrs old. She knew me well. She got calm, she was probably running wild and happily cause she was always chained next to the orange tree. we have two orange trees on both side of our house. Shes chained to the better tasting orange, cause her poop. lol. So after ten minutes or so of struggling to tie her back to the tree, i managed. but i remember it wasnt looked in. It was a metal chain and you had to twist the screw to attach to the other side. uknoe?its like a C but connected with the screw. Or something like that. but i remember ididnt connect it well though but she got chained in WELL for a LONG TIME until we moved. i dont remember if i was scraped or had injuries, but my mom whenever she talk about this incident, she say i was scrapped and dragged by the dog(MeeMee). This other incident over at that house, There was one living room, which had the bedroom connected to it. It use to be my brothers, then sisters then me and my mom and dads room. We switched rooms, and i remember that night very well. because my brother (who is currently in jail still)'s baby mama had came over And they stayed late telling ghost stories and events that occured to folks they knew. And i remember she was telling about one of their friends ithink who went out, and they looked back on the mirror and saw this Thing rolling out his tongue. well anyways, back to the point. Yeah i remember ithink i was the UMM thingy. i was laying on my chest, and had my hands under my pillow. my feets were sticking out from the bed.And what else..... I then heard this male voice calling out my FULL name.i was spoked but wasnt as OMFG WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT though. Do you guys know why i tend to have nightmares ONLY at that house??

omg spooky stories.. i'm so late.. i just got done reading all the stories today... i'm so freaked out now.. i'm home alone...i'll have to come back and share my stories when ppl are home it's too freaky right now even though it's daytime.

creepy stories!! lol.

I have some stories:

Back in high school like the 9th grade my friend and I used to stay up talking til 1 am!! One night we were just on the phone talking like usual and since she ate so much watermelon she needed to go to the bathroom so she set the phone down and left it in her room. A couple seconds later I hear someone pick up the phone and it's a lady asking who is this in Laotian and I was like uh...and I didn't get to finish my sentence and then some little kid got on the phone and was like who are you looking for? I said my friends name and he's like oh she's not here right now and then I hear a click! My friend came back on the phone and I told her about it. I asked her if she had anyone stay over like a little kid and she said no and that everyone in her house was asleep. Her sister got back home from work and she made me tell her sister and lol her sister thought I was crazy and probably tired but I swear that's what happened!

Another story - my aunt blames me for this but whatever! When we were in Laos for like 2 days in 2006 staying with my great uncle my friend and I bumped into each other at Talard Sao (Morning Market) and it's the same friend from my above story...what a small world! LOL. Anyways I asked my parents if she could stay over with me at my great uncle's house and they said ok so she and her brother came and stayed over. We slept in the living room and there's this picture on top of this bookshelf of my great aunt - she looks so scary in that pix because it's black and white and she had HUGE eyes. But anyways my friend and I were talking until midnight and when my aunt and uncle turned off all the lights they went to bed so it got really dark and then we heard this creeeeeeek noise from the door! So creepy so then my friend and I decided to sleep...but the next morning because I guess I forgot to light up incense to ask for it to be ok for my friends to stay my aunt that went to Laos with me said she saw my great aunt and that she was angry with her - she got her hair pulled by the ghost?! - I think she did something to my great aunt or something when she lived in Laos hahaha. IDK!

When I was small we used to live in my aunt's basement. The house is pretty old I'm guessing about 70 years old. My family has claimed to have many things happening to them like my grandma she claims that the beds upstairs have been bounced on and the bed was moving all by itself like children were jumping on it. So she took a broom and started to hit the bed and the jumping stopped. My mom claims to have seem glowing eyes behind the stove, one day the stove started to shake all by itself. When my mom was sleeping she smelt a horrid stench like a rotting body, and our pillow magically got moved to the other side of the room and it got caught on the vent and it caught on fire. Now for my experiences, everytime I walk into the kitchen I have a strange feeling of being watched. When I was a baby I got pushed into the side of the closet and I got 3 stitches. So my dad decided to get our own house and we moved. My father doesn't believe in ghosts since he used to be a soldier and carried dead bodies he laughs at my claims so I didn't bother to tell him. At our new house it was a nice house but sadly it was right beside my old house so I was always afraid to look out the kitchen window. At my new house it was calm for the next 5 years but my mom has seen a girl downstairs and I've seen a man in the mirror behind me. So we moved again because my father decided to build his own house. As we were packing I was marking the bags so we wouldn't get things confused and my mom called for me when I came back my permenant marker was gone and was put at the exact same place I got it from. I asked my dad but he was upstairs the whole time. So now I live in a brand new house, I'm not afraid as long as the ghost doesn't interfere with me. I don't mind having ghosts I just want to be left alone and live my life, but i do pray that they can go reborn and not suffer as a ghost anymore.

 I've never had any encounters like that before. Those are scary occurrences.
As long as you feel safe, that's all that matters. If there is anything, I'm sure its intentions are not anything bad, I hope.
Does your aunt still live in that same house?

No, but the person renting it right now claims to have had some encounters as well. My cousin has told me that when he was sleeping there something was pushing him down. My aunt moved also she's my neighbour now. I swear to never enter that house ever again.

that's so scary! I would have run out and never returned! it sounds to me like the spirit(s) there is/are malevolent...it could be dangerous to have people continuing to live there. have you thought about getting it exorcised by a priest or a monk?

I live in canada, I don't think anyone here does that. I think I'll just send merit to them. Plus the people living there are white people I don't know if they would believe in doing that. I don't think the ghosts there mean much harm but I will send merit to them tonight if I remember to.

I've never had any experiences, but I'll share one of my mom's stories that she told us at camp last year.
It's really...scary to me just thinking about it.

This was back in Thailand when she was about 13-14 years old. She lived in a small town and she was one of the few girl teenagers around so villagers asked her frequently to babysit for them whenever she was free. Everyone basically knew everyone so my mom helped them a lot. There was this one particular family, and I believe she said they were Uncle and Aunt from far relations. They had 3 kids I think, and the Aunt was pregnant with another child. My mom said she that soon, the aunt got very ill and so it seemed like it was going to be difficult for her to give birth. When the aunt finally had the baby, she died. A few days later the funeral was given and at night, my mom was the one to come over to babysit her kids while the husband was at the funeral. (Hmong funerals are about 2-3 days long. My mom is a crazily brave person.^^) I'm not sure if my mom was the only teenager there, but she said that she was really scared. When they all [tried] going to sleep, they kept hearing noises, like something pounding from the roof. (Keep in mind that the way Hmong people lived back then, they really didn't have solid rooftops or walls. And the roof wasn't so high either.) When the noises kept occurring, the newborn baby would keep crying nonstop and no one knew why. The pounding kept happening every single night according to my mom. After the funeral, in our tradition, people usually come to "watch the night" with you at your house. That night everyone heard the pounding and the elders said that it was the aunt and that she wanted her baby. A few days later the baby became really sick and not so long after the baby died. It was then, that the noises stopped pounding on the roof.

I can't explain it as great as my mom since it's from her own first-hand experience. And some words in our language just gives you more of the creeps so, me explaining it in English wasn't so bad. haha
Honestly, I think traditional Asian stories the scariest ever. O-O

Never knew this topic existed or I would of join in and share some stories ;) Read almost all of you ladies stories and geezy; goosebumps, goosebumps and chills. Well I'm also going to join in and share some stories.

1) A good friend of mine boyfriend brother was in a relationship and really loved his girlfriend. They discussed of getting married, but he wanted to wait for another year until he save up enough money and she soon became distant because of that. Yet, though he truly love and also want to married her, he just wanted them to wait for a year and sadly she cheated on him. Out of nowhere he found out that she was married and for him to get out of life. He was hurt, depressed and thought of suicidal ideas. So one night when he was in his room crying and wished for love and comfort, a little girl with very long hair came out of his closet and wiped off the tears that was falling. He suddenly froze at that moment with million things running his mind of what was happening at that moment and then that little girl say to him to be not sad and whenever he cries she'll come and wipe his tears and walk back into his closet. He then came back to reality and ran out of his room. Again, after that incident that little girl will come out of the closet every night and his parents seek for help because he soon got sick. Luckily, they seek for help early and was able to help him on time and every since then he never seen it again.

2) Back then when I was around 5-6 year old, my family used to live in a 3 floor apartment building and having to live on the 3rd floor it's a flight to go up and down. So one night, when my father came back from work late and was about to go onto the 2nd floor flight stair he saw a little boy crouching down and crying. My father found it strange and asked where was his parents and why was he crying. He wouldn't answer my father and just continue to cry. My father then suddenly felt cold and knew exactly what was going on. So he then quickly walked up the stair and just shrugged off the incident. I was younger then so I remember hearing my older sister say that night when my father suddenly felt cold, he knew right then that little boy wasn't any normal human but a wondering ghost.

3) A good girlfriend of mine told me this story of a family that is somehow related to her husband which it gave me the chill so I also wanted to share this story. That family resided in Oregon and at that time recently moved into their new home. There was this really big tall tree that was right in front of their house. So due to safety, they decided to cut down the tree and to bring more sunlight into their home since the tree drawn their house a lot of darkness. Soon after cutting down the tree, each member in the family will become sick and die. After all the death, leaving just the 2 parents left they both decided to move to a different state after they found out the reason and the reason was because that the tree in front of their house belong to a Indian family and by cutting down that tree it destroyed their home. So they were not happy and came to take their family member to become their slave in the other world. Not long after settling in their new home, both of the couple decided to go to the casino to see any luck. Yet, whatever they play they just kept losing so suddenly a Indian man and his son who was handicap on one leg asked them if they were interest of borrowing $10,000 from them but right then the couple knows and rejected it. Again, not long after the rejection the same Indian man and his son come up to them and offer them the $10,000 deal again but still they rejected it. The man and his son wouldn't budge and kept following them around in the casino so the two couple began to freak out and quickly got out of the place. Once they left and saw that the old man and his son was still trying to follow them behind they look back and saw nothing. The most important and freaky part about this story is that when that old Indian man and his son came to offer them that $10,000, both of them knew right then that they're not any normal human but ghost. Because as everybody know, Indian's doesn't gamble or ever go to casino so when both of the Indian man and son approach them they knew what they were bumping into. So if that couple was to even borrow their money, it would leave them owing those two Indian's and who knows what will happen to them if they do. That's why elders say that don't go gamble or go to the casino, because that's where wondering ghost are also at.

- 3 of these stories for now since I am just ready to fall on the bed and KO. Well come back and share again, hopefully you guys enjoyed it and had goosebumps.
