TEASER 1
NOTE: *=change of scene

Mario (who will be playing as Rita’s brother): “I don’t know what to do. Like you said, I’m stupid and can’t do anything for myself.”

*flashback*
In front of everybody in school.
Taew (who will be playing as Rome’s sister): “Mario, you can’t do anything for yourself. I don’t want a boyfriend like you. It’s over between us because you are not a real man. You can die for all I care.”
Everyone was laughing at him, pointing their fingers.
*flashback*

Mario: “Die? You will regret saying that to me. Today I will prove to you and everyone that I’m a man. I curse you Taew, that in the next lifetime, you will suffer the same fate as me.”

He jumps off the bridge, and drowns in the water below.

*Rita arrives at the train station, takes off her sunglasses, and looks fierce.
(her voice over) “I will avenge your death Mario. That bitch will pay for hurting you.”

*Rome and Taew arrive at Mario’s funeral
(Rome’s voice over after seeing Rita) “I’ve never seen anyone as beautiful as her. I will make it my top priority to make her mine.”
(Taew’s voice over, looking at Mario’s picture) “You got what you deserve Mario.”
(Rita’s voice over, looking at Taew) “I will not you get away with what you did.”

*A wedding scene
Taew: “Rome, you can’t go through with this. As your sister, I forbid you to.”
Ae: “Rome, choose me or her?”
Rome: “I don’t want to choose, but if I have to, I choose…”

*At the bridge Mario died
Rita (crying): “Mario, I don’t know what to do now. I love him, but his sister caused your death. Can I live with that fact?”

*Yard: “You think that she really is the one for you?”
Tye: “With all my heart. I will love her forever. And we belong together”

*Taew: “You’re lying. I hate you. How can you do this to me? Get out! Get out! I hate you!”

*Nat: “You can’t help who you fall in love with.”

*Rita’s voice over: “Can love erase the hate? This hatred I have runs deep, and I don’t know if I can forgive what has happen. I have vowed to destroy Taew, and I must do it for my brother.”

*Rome: “I love you Rita! No matter what, I always will. Death means nothing!”

*Taew: “I will never let my brother be with that slut. I am the most important person in my brother’s life, and I will make sure that I always will be.” (shows her holding a knife)

*Ae: “Rome, I love you, and if I can’t have you, no one can” (shows her with a gun)

*Rita: “ROME, GET OUT NOW!!!!!!!”
(BOOM! The warehouse blows up, and Rita screams for Rome, but policemen are holding her back)

*Rita’s voice over: “I’ve lost everything, but was it worth it?” (holding flowers, by a gravestone)

TEASER 2 (again, *=new scene)
Mario: "I love you Taew. How can you not see that? Why do you have to treat me like this?"
Taew: "Ha. Love? You don’t love me, if you did, prove it…That’s what I thought, nothing but talk. People like you aren’t worth my time. Besides, I found someone else. You were nothing but a toy."
Mario: "You will regret that."
Taew: "Never. Read my lips, you will never mean anything to me."

*at Rome’s house
Taew: "I’m not going to let my brother be sucked into your lies. He loves me, and will do anything for me, so I will make sure he kicks you out of our lives forever!"
Rita: "If your brother wanted me gone, he would have already. But he wants me to stay, and that’s what I will do, and you can’t do anything about it."
Taew: "Why you…." (slap)

*Rita: "You don’t know the meaning of love. It’s just words; there is no meaning in them. I’m sorry, but I don’t love you. To me, you are nothing, just a toy, and now I’m bored of you, so I’ll toss you aside, because something better has come along."
Rome: "There’s only one way to prove that you don’t love me. Tonight, we will settle it, once and for all. I will show you how much I love you, and how much you love me."

*Nat: "No one can be as beautiful as Rita, not even you."
Taew: "Ahhhhhh! Get out! Rita, Rita, Rita! That’s all I hear these days, I’m so sick and tired of hearing her name."
Nat: "Face it, you aren’t the star anymore. Rita has taken your place." (leaves)
Taew (alone): "Rita, you have stolen everything from me, and you will get what you deserve, just like your brother."

*Yard: "Are you sure about this? What if Rome finds out? He’ll hate me forever."

*at a hotel
Rita: "You think I’m blind? I can see what’s going on here. I hate you Rome."
Rome: "Rita, it’s not what you think! Wait! (chasing after her, but loses her) What did I do?"

*at an institution
Rita: "I came to see you mother. How are you?"
Ren: "Mario? Is that you my son? Don’t ever leave me. I told you that girl was bad news."

*at the institution, pushing Ren in a wheelchair
Pikut (Rita/Mario’s father): "Ren, honey, Mario’s gone. You’re gone. And I can’t provide for the family anymore. The only one left is Rita. She will better off without us both. Come on, let’s go, let’s find the girl who killed our son, and then we’ll all finally meet Mario again."

*at Rome’s house
Rita: "My father is out there with my mother right now, and I think they are going to hurt your sister! We have to find them, after my brother’s death, they were never the same."
Rome: "Don’t worry, I won’t let anyone hurt my sister….or you."

*at a warehouse
Taew: "Where am I???"

*Rome: "How could you do this to me? Did you really think you’re going to get away with this?!"
Rita: "Yes I did, because I won’t let your sister win."

*Rome: "I love you Rita. Marry me, and you will make me the happiest and luckiest man in the world."

*Tye: "Forget Rome. I love you. Marry me."

*Rita: "I love……"

*???: "DIE!" (bang)

Cast/brief summary of them:
Rita: 25, Was studying in America when she hears that her brother died because of a girl. She vows to make the girl suffer and plans to make Rome fall in love with her, and leave him immediately afterward.
Rome: 29, Has been a good boy to his parents and a loving brother to Taew. He does what people expect him to, but when he falls head over heels for Rita, he suddenly changes his whole attitude.
Taew 20, (Rome’s younger sister): Is loved by her brother and spoiled. Doesn’t care about anyone except herself. She acts like a sweetheart in public, but behind doors, she’s vicious. The only one she really trust is her brother ‘Rome’ because he gives her whatever she wants.
Mario 21, (Rita’s younger brother): Dies after being dumped by Taew.
Ae 24, (Rome’s ex-girlfriend): She’s from a well-off family, and was currently dating Rome but got dumped for Rita. She tries to win Rome back.
Nat 22, (Taew’s current boyfriend): Dating Taew because of her money, but falls for Rita.
Tye: 28,Rita’s old boyfriend from America. They have a good relationship even after the breakup, but he has come back to win Rita’s heart again.
Yard 25, Rome’s best friend. She has a secret crush on Rome, but when she sees that he loves Rita. The battle is on, but she may get side-tracked when she bumps into Tye.

Mario: Love is both good and evil. It's what you choose to do with love, that makes love what it is. It can make people lose everything or make them gain what they never had. People who are able to cherish love and make it all it can be are the fortunates. But those who are not, are called The Unfortunates.

Chapter 1

(On webcams)
Mario: Rita! Are you there? Hello? Rita!!!! Don’t make me sing.

Rita: I’m up. I’m here. Don’t sing please, last time you sang, it almost blew my eardrums.

Mario: Ha ha, very funny. So how was school today?

Rita: It’s going fine, except I tripped on my shoelaces, and dropped everything.

Mario: That’s so funny. I wish I was there to see it.

Rita: Whatever. Well I’m coming home soon anyways. America is fun, except I really miss home. I miss mom’s cooking.

Mario: Yeah, since you’re gone, I get to eat more.

Rita: (sticks out tongue) Well forget it, I’ll be back right after I graduate next week.

Mario: Oooh my sister, going to be the big graduate. What do you study again?

Rita: Dumbo, I study business and marketing. Enough about me, we always talk about me, what about you?

Mario: Me? Well college over here is fine. My studies are okay, but my looks are what get places.

Rita: Ha, your looks, whatever. So do you have a girlfriend yet? What about that girl you were talking to me about a long time ago? Did your looks get her? You never talk about her anymore.

Mario: Uh…Rita, sorry, but mom is calling me, I got to go. Bye. We’ll talk later.

Rita: Oh, okay. Bye kiddo. Love you.

Mario: Love ya too. Bye.
(end of webcam)

Rita: That Mario, always making the excuse that mom is calling for him. When I get home, he’s going to get it.

Mario: You called mom?

Ren (mom): I call you to eat before you go to school, and stop talking to your sister on your webcam, she’s going to make you late all the time.

Pikut (dad): Go easy on the kid, sweetie. You should be glad that he still likes talking to his sister.

Mario: Dad, Mom. Oh, Rita says she’s coming home next week, after she graduate.

Ren: Oh yes. My little girl is growing up.

Pikut: You mean our little girl. Son, you better go now before you’re late for your class.

Mario: Yeah, bye. Love you.

Mario walks over to Taew, who is with her group of friends, and some guy that he has never seen before standing close to Taew.

Mario: Taew! Hey, I brought you your favorite candy today.

Taew: Oh, I don’t like that kind of candy anymore.

Mario: Okay, just tell me what you like, and I’ll go get it for you.

Taew: Mario, I have to tell you something.

Mario: What is it?

In front of everybody in the school, as they listened in to what the “Queen of the School” has to say.

Taew (in such a calm voice): Mario, you can’t do anything for yourself. I don’t want a boyfriend like you. It’s over between us because you are not a real man. You can die for all I care.

Mario: I love you Taew. How can you not see that? Why do you have to treat me like this?

Taew: Ha. Love? You don’t love me, if you did, prove it…That’s what I thought, nothing but talk. People like you aren’t worth my time. Besides, I found someone else. You were nothing but a toy.

Mario: You will regret that.

Taew: Never. Read my lips, you will never mean anything to me. Like I said before, it’s over. See, this is Nat, my new boyfriend, and he’s rich unlike you and your middle class family who asked for favors to get into this school. Look what he brought my friends and me, the most expensive kind of candy there is. And all you buy me is some poor candy. Ha. (knocks it out of Mario’s hands) Ooops. (Mario is so hurt, the girl he thought he knew was no longer there. He is a man, but somehow the tears started building up in his eyes.) Awww is the big baby going to cry? Look everyone, Mario’s a crybaby. How pathetic. Come on Nat, I feel like there’s dirty just standing by this poor person.

Everyone starts laughing at him, pointing their fingers. Mario runs away, feeling embarrassed. Today was suppose to be the day he was going to tell Taew that he loves her in the most romantic way. He worked his butt off at his work place, taking odd jobs, and even asking his friends to help him, just to afford the nicest restaurant to tell her how he felt. He knew all about Taew’s reputation, of being a beauty that no guy could tame, and she can break so many hearts. But when Taew decided to speak to him, Mario felt that he may have a chance to change her heart. He was wrong; he was just another toy to Taew.

Mario stops, and sees that he’s far away from his school, he was at the bridge. Mario looks over, and inhales a big breath.

He screams out, “I hate you Taew! I hate you! Do you hear me? You heartless girl!”

His emotions gets the best of him, he decides to stand on top of the rail. Some people observe him and run to stop Mario from jumping.

Person 1: Son, please come down, don’t jump.

Mario: Jump? I wasn’t going to---maybe I should. She wants me to.

Person 2: Don’t son. Your life is too precious. Come down.

Mario: No! She wanted me to do this, she said that I could die, and she wouldn’t care. Let’s see. She will get her last wish.

Person 2: Someone call the police!

Mario: Forget it. The police won’t stop me from doing this.

Person 1: You’re still a child, don’t do this.

Person 3: Forget that girl. You’re young, you can find someone.

Mario: I can’t. She was the only girl I ever had. I love her. I can never forgive her. I don’t know what to do. Like she said, I’m stupid and can’t do anything for myself.

*flashback*
In front of everybody in school.

He jumps into the water, his body hits the water with an impact. The police gets there minutes later, and surrounds the area. The witnesses gives their statements. And the police rules this a suicide, the fifth one this year, all young males that attend the nearby college, all related to saying that a girl broke their hearts.

Ren: Hello? Yes this is the Jensen’s residence. Yes I do have a son named Mario. What is this about? Is he in trouble? What? (drops the phone)

Pikut: Honey, I heard the phone ring. What is it? What’s wrong? (picks up phone) Hello? This is Mr. Jensen. WHAT?!

They both rushed down to the hospital, running to the nurses’ station frantically trying to find Mario. The nurse told them that the doctor is in the E.R. with Mario, but that is all she knows. They wait outside the E.R. praying that Mario is alright. The police had told them that Mario had jumped off the bridge, and was unresponsive at the scene. They tried C.P.R. but still nothing. After hours of waiting, the doctor comes out and sees Ren and Pikut stand up to walk towards him. All he does is shakes his head no. Ren falls to the floor, crying.

Doctor: I’m sorry. We did all we could to try to save him, but the impact he took to the water…It was too great, and knocked him unconscious causing him to drown. My condolences on your loss. Excuse me, I have to leave. This nurse will inform you on everything.

Pikut: How can this happen to us? What did we do to deserve this?

Ren: Mario, our son, we just saw him this morning.

When it was time, the nurse lead them to Mario, who is covered with a white cloth. Ren lifts it and sees Mario’s faces.

Ren: Oh. Why? Why? Mario…

Pikut: Sweetie, it’s going to be alright. It’ll be okay.

Pikut holds his wife in his arms, but she peels his hands away as she reaches for Mario’s arm. She rubs it, to make it warm again, but no matter how much she rubs, it’s still cold. She falls to her knees and cries some more. Pikut can’t even look at his son’s body just laying there. He is filled with sadness, helpless to his own family.

Rita: WHAT? Dad, you’re not serious. Mario wouldn’t do that just because of a girl. How can this be, I just talked to him today. But, still, this can’t be true. Don’t worry dad, I’m coming home as soon as I can. No, it’s just my graduation next week, I’m already done. I’m coming on the next flight out if I can. Bye. Love you. Tell mom that I love her too.

She starts packing her necessary stuff in a suitcase. She stops when she packs up her picture frame with her and Mario.

*flashback*
Young Mario: Dad, Rita pushed me in the mud.

Pikut: Rita, be nice to Mario. He’s younger than you.

Young Rita: But Dad, Mario threw mud at my hair. No one will like a girl with mud in their hair, I read it in a magazine.

Young Mario: Well who will like a girl like you? You have mud in your hair.

Pikut: Now sweetie, I don’t want anyone to ever get near my precious Rita.

Young Rita: Dad! Mom, say something.

Ren: You two are adorable. Honey, come take a picture of them. Rita, Mario, pose for us.

They were giving each other the chokehold, but smiling.
*flashback*

Rita: Mario, this can’t be true. A girl? If it is, what am I going to do without you? What am I going to do? (She sits down on her bed, and clutches to the photo.) When I find that girl, I will make sure she will pay ten times more than you. She never met someone like me.

Rita arrives at the airport. She walks out and takes off her sunglasses, with such a fierce face. “I will avenge your death Mario. That bitch will pay for hurting you.”

Taew: I’m back.

Yin (her mom): Good, sweetie, come here. We have some news to tell you.

Taew: What is it?

Tok (her father): We just received that one of your fellow classmates just died; he was in the same grade and class as you.

Taew: Oh? Really? Who is it?

Tok: Mario Jensen. Do you know him?

Taew: Me, know him? No. There are so many people at school; I don’t know every single one of them. Can I be excuse, I got more important things to do than talk about a boy I don’t’ know.

Yin: Still, he went to the same school as you. His funeral is tomorrow, and Rome will escort you there.

Taew: Like I said, I got more important stuff to do; this Mario kid isn’t worth my time. I don’t see why I have to go.

Yin: It’s out of respect.

Tok: Your mother is right.

Taew: All you two want to do is keep up your good appearances to society.

Yin: That’s not what we are saying. We just think that---

Taew: Ugh. Enough excuses. Fine I will go, but only if I get to go party with my friends tonight. And I’m going because Rome is taking me. (leaves)

Yin: What kind of daughter did we raise? How can she not care about someone else’s life and decides to go partying?

Tok: I don’t know. Rome isn’t even like this. (sigh) I don’t know how she will survive without us or Rome.

Yin: Let’s just hope that she changes.

Taew: Guess what? I can go to the party. Where is it? Okay, I’ll come pick you up. I told my parents I would go see this dead guy’s funeral. I don’t know who it is. Okay, see you at 7. <click, end of phone conversation> Hmmm, I wonder what Rome is up to. Maybe he will be willing to buy me a new dress?

She calls Rome’s cell phone, but no answer after the first ring. She hangs up and calls again, still no answer after the first ring. So she decides to call him once more, he finally picks up.

Taew: Rome! You finally pick up.

Rome: Well you never let me get the phone in time. You always hang up after the first ring.

Taew: Well I don’t like waiting.

Rome: What is it that you want? I’m kind of busy; I’m swamp with work right now.

Taew: Yeah yeah. Well it’s not going to take long; I just need money to buy a new dress.

Rome: Why don’t you ask mom or dad? And didn’t you buy a dress just yesterday?

Taew: Yes. But that’s for something else. I need a new dress for tonight.

Rome: Just wear one of your other dresses.

Taew: Ahhh! Wear one of my other ones. I never wear the same thing twice. Eww. Rome! Please. I need it.

Rome: Fine. Just charge it under my name then, but just ONE dress.

Taew: Yay. Thanks bro, you’re the best. Bye.

Rome: Bye. <click> Taew, I spoil you too much.

Nam (Taew’s friend): So did you hear? Mario jumped off a bridge.

Taew: Who’s Mario?

Pim (Taew’s friend): Are you serious? He’s the guy you just dumped this morning.

Taew: Oh, it’s that guy. He’s an idiot to jump off because I dumped him. Well I guess it would be the end of the world for guys like them, because I am probably the best girl they would ever have.

Nam: Taew!

Taew: What? It’s true. Anyways, what do you think about this dress? It’s perfect for tonight, right? And guess what, my brother said that he will pay for it.

Her two friends look at each other, knowing that Taew is too spoiled and selfish, but they put on a smile and agrees with her. They finally get ready and hit the club.

Taew: Let’s go dancing.

Pim: Shouldn’t we go find Nat?

Taew: Nat can come find me.

She goes to the dance floor and dances with all the guys there, jumping around from one to the next. Her friends are concern about her, but start to loosen up once Taew offers to buy them some drinks.

Ae: Rome, are you done with work?

Rome: Yes. Did you want to catch a bite to eat?

Ae: Sure.

Rome: Oh, I should invite Yard along too.

Ae: Rome, Yard is just your friend, I’m your girlfriend. Don’t you think that it’s rude for you to talk about another girl in front of me?

Rome: Well I thought you were fine with me having my best friend being a girl.

Ae: I did at first. But then everything we do, we have to include Yard. You know, I’m sick of hearing about Yard. Don’t you love me Rome?

To Rome, he doesn’t know what love means. He never loved a girl before, except for the love he has for his mother and sister. He doesn’t know how to answer Ae, since he knows for now that he isn’t at that ‘love’ stage yet, they have only been dating for a couple months.

Rome: Ae, I really like you.

Ae: That’s it? Like? Rome, I need to know that this is going somewhere. Fine, let’s just drop it and go out to eat.

Rome: Ok.

Rita couldn’t sleep a wink last night. Maybe it was because of the time difference or because when she arrived home, she saw her mother cooking nonstop, while her father just sat on the couch staring at the television that wasn’t even on. She got up to get ready for the funeral. It was really real; her brother drowned himself because of a girl. This girl must have meant so much to him, for him to do something like this.

Rita walks down the stairs and sees that her mother and father were still in the same places they were yesterday. She guides them to the bathroom to get ready for Mario’s burial. Rita decided that she has to be the strong one in the family, now that Mario is no long here.

They finally get to the temple. Rita didn’t expect so many people to show up; most of them were Mario’s classmates. None of them knew that Mario had a sister, a beautiful sister to add. Rita looked at them, as they were staring at her, but all of the sudden Taew walks in, and their eyes turned to her direction. Rita followed the eyes, and saw Taew and wonders who she is.

Taew: What? Stop staring at me.

Rome (whispers to Taew): Lower your voice Taew. This is a funeral, don’t just blurt things out, it’s rude.

Taew: Hmph, fine for you, I won’t blurt things out.

Rita overhears a couple of girls whispering while Taew and Rome are at the entrance, “That’s Taew. She was the one that dumped Mario.” “Really, so she was the one that made Mario jump?” “Yeah. Everyone was there to see how Taew humiliated Mario in front the whole school. Word is that her family is so rich, they can buy her anything she wants and can bail her out of anything.” “Wow. So who is that guy next to her? Her new boyfriend?” “No, that’s her brother, Rome. The only guy she truly loves is her brother, not even her father matches up to Rome.” “Wow. He’s pretty handsome.” “Don’t even think about it. I heard once, a girl at school commented on Rome’s good looks, and when Taew found out, that girl was never heard from again, even her parents don’t know where she went.” “That’s scary.” “As your sister, it’s best to stay clear of Taew. Good thing Taew is going to graduate before you come to the university.” “I know.”

Taew was about to go sit by her friends, when Rome motioned her to go pay the family respect. When they get there Rita looks at Taew, observing her, trying to find what made her so special that Mario would fall head over heels for her. “I will not you get away with what you did,” Rita says in her head, while Taew looks at Mario’s picture and smirks, thinking, “You got what you deserve Mario.”

Rome: We are sorry for your lost, although we do not know your son, our condolences.

When Rome looks up, he catches a look at Rita. Even though this is a funeral, he is still stun at her beauty. There’s something about her that makes her glow.

Taew: Rome! (pinches his side)

Rome: What is it?

Taew: You’re holding up the line. Let’s go already. (pulling Rome’s arm)

Rome tries to get one last glimpse of Rita. He mumbles to himself, “I don’t what’s going on with me, but I’ve never seen anyone as beautiful as her. I will have to make it my top priority to make her mine.”

Taew: What are mumbling? I’m sick of this place already. I’m so mad right now; let’s go buy me some shoes to make me feel better.

Rome: Taew, don’t you ever consider other people’s feelings? We have to stay the whole time. It’s rude to just leave.

Taew: Ugh. This is stupid. I don’t like waiting.

After the funeral was over, Taew complains to her parents that Rome made her stay the whole time. Of course they sided with Rome, which made Taew upset, so she decides to leave and go over to Nat. Rome on the other hand decides to go visit his best friend, Yard.

Rome: I don’t know what to do Yard. Ae is a good girlfriend, but—I don’t know.

Yard: I can’t make your decisions for you.

Rome: Yard, you have to help me. I’m not good with these things. Please, you’re the only girl I trust.

Yard: Really? Okay, I’ll try to come up with something.

Rome: Thanks. You’re the best friend someone could ever have.

There was that word again, ‘friend.’ It was like a knife in Yard’s heart. She wants to show Rome that she wants to be more than just friends, for him to turn to her and love her. They have been best friends for 10 years, and still nothing more than that. She is willing to give up everything for Rome, yet he doesn’t see it.

Rome: Hey, I forgot to tell you, I met this one girl today. She was very beautiful, nice, lovely, and gorgeous.

Yard: Really? What’s her name?

Rome: I don’t know.

Yard: You didn’t ask for her name, well it’s a good thing because you’re girlfriend is Ae, so don’t think about getting another girlfriend or else. (shows her fist)

Rome: Alright, but still, I wonder what her name is.

awww, being busy. well i just updated until chapter 2 because i don't know if i will be this week. i think i will update on weekends or something. Thanks for reading. ^^ don't work to hard at college :)

Chapter 3

Police: We found your wife wondering around in the marketplace. She claims that that little boy is her son, but when his real mother came to claim him, Mrs. Jensen attacked her. The police were called and luckily got there before something worse happened. After we took her down to the station, she started screaming for her son and grabbing onto every officer, trying to claim them as her son, Mario. Good thing the other party did not want to press charges, but if this happens again, I’m not sure if she will be this lucky. Kidnapping is a serious charge.

Rita: We’re truly sorry. My mother is going through a difficult time right now. I assure you that it won’t happen again. May we be able to take her home now?

Police: Yes, I’ll take you both there.

They walk to the cell, Rita sees her mother in a fetal position, rocking herself back and forth, mumbling something to herself.

Ren: Shhhh. You’re safe now, mommy loves you. Mario, don’t worry, mommy’s here. Just go to sleep. I’ll take you away from that evil lady.

Pikut: How long has she been like this?

Officer: Since we brought her in here. No one dares to go near her or else she’ll go ballistic.

Pikut: May we go in?

Officer: I am not sure if that is wise, but alright.

Rita slowly walks into the cell, cautiously.

Rita: Mom? Mom, it’s me, Rita.

Ren: Ri—Rita?

Rita: Yeah, Rita. I’m here with dad. Can you tell us what happened?

Ren: No. I can’t.

Rita: We won’t judge you. Please?

Ren: I was at the market, buying dinner, and then I saw Mario. I hugged him and going to take him home, but then this evil lady took him away from me. Why, why would she do that?

Rita: Mom, Mario is dead. You know that right?

Ren: No. You lie. Lies. Mario isn’t dead. He isn’t. He can’t be. Noooooooo!

Pikut: Honey, snap out of it. Our son is dead, he died already.

Ren: Get out! I don’t want to hear your nonsense, Mario isn’t dead, he isn’t.

Rita: Dad, what’s happening?

Pikut: I do not know.

Pikut: Honey, we’re home now. Let’s take you upstairs to get some rest.

Ren: Rest, I don’t need any. I need to see Mario.

Rita: Mom, we’ll see Mario later, right now he’s out.

Ren: Okay.

Pikut takes Ren to their bedroom and puts her down to sleep. He shakes his head, not knowing what to do next. First he loses his son, next his wife is going crazy, he’s a failure to his own family. He walks out and sees Rita standing outside the door, waiting for a response, worried.

Rita: Dad, ---

Pikut: I know, and I don’t know what to do.

Rita: Do you think she’s go do it again?

Pikut: Nothing is for certain, but let’s hope she gets better. She’s your mother, she’s strong.

Rita: I know, and I hope so. Is there anything you want me to do?

Pikut: (sigh) Watch over your mother, I have to go somewhere right now.

Rita: Now? Where are you going?

Pikut: To find answers. I’ll be back later. Bye sweetie.

Rita: Bye dad, take care.

Pikut leaves Rita alone to watch her mother. She walks into the room and sees her mother soundly sleeping. Tears stream down Rita’s face as she remembers what she witnessed at the police station earlier. She quickly wipes her tears away and closes the door. With a deep breath, she decides to go the Mario’s room. Right when she opens it, she can feel his presence. Rita picks up Mario’s clothes that are on the ground, and puts them in the hamper. She walks over to his computer with the webcam, and thinks back to all their conversations. A small smile sweeps across her face when she thinks of all the silly things she and Mario talked about on MSN. She makes her way to his bed, and sits down. Right when she sits down, she hears something crumple, like paper. Rita lifts up the blankets, then the sheets, then the bed. Underneath the bed, she is shocked to find a folded-up piece of paper. She quickly opens it and reads it:

(Two days before his death)
Rita,

There is so much I want to tell you, but can’t. I’m writing a letter addressed to you as a way to express my feelings. I’m sorry I can’t tell you everything, all my secrets, all my feelings, anything about your own brother. This will be my final letter that I will have to secretly write to you because soon I’ll announce to you, mom, and dad, that I have a girlfriend. But the biggest secret I have been hiding is I’m in love.

Her name is Taew Patchata. She is one-of-a-kind and also pretty cute, but the only problem is that she’s rich and I’m not. All the guys she dated have been hi-so, and I’m not even up there. The only reason why I’m going to the same college is them is because of my academics, not the money. I’ve never been ashamed of who I am or where I came from, but when I’m with Taew, I do because of all the guys I have to be compared too. On the outside, Taew can seems mean, cruel, and greedy, but I see a different side of her that no one else does, a softer side where she’s smart, funny, sweet, and lovely. I am the only one she lets into her real world. I love her.

We’ve been secretly dating for a year now, but announced ourselves as a couple about a month ago. The reason why we publicly announced ourselves was because Taew finally thought it was time, but I feel it was because people were catching on. I’ve never loved anyone like her. She is my one true love, and I know that I am hers. She told me that she would give up everything just to be with me. She said that money meant nothing to her, and when she told me that, I was so happy. I know that I’m young, but I know in my heart she’s the one. Soon I will tell her that I truly love her. I’ve worked so hard just to get her the perfect gift, and I know she’ll love it. She is my heart, my soul, my everything, and without her, I feel like I’m nothing. One day, I dream to be successful, to be able to provide for her and our family. I know I can do as long as she is there by my side.

After reading the letter, Rita started to cry. Her brother was a fool, he loved this girl so much, and she broke his heart. He kept this a secret for so long, why? But there was one thing in particular that stuck out for her, Mario wrote that this would be his final letter, meaning that there were more. She quickly got up, and started searching his room for the letters to know more about his relationship with Taew. The more Rita thinks about this, the more she is angered by the thought of her brother falling prey to this girl.

Taew: Nat, I’m bored. Let’s go shopping.

Nat: Why don’t you go with your friends?

Taew: Ugh. They are so boring, and besides, I want to go with you.

Nat: I’m busy right now.

Taew: Too busy for your girlfriend? What? OMG! Are you saying what I think you’re saying? OMG!

Nat: Taew! Calm down. How about this, you go shopping by yourself, but I’ll give you my credit card, and you can buy whatever you like?

Taew: Hmmm. Okay. Thanks Nat, you’re the best.

Right when she leaves, Nat smiles to himself, thinking that this would be easier than he thought.

Taew goes to the mall all by herself, smiling that she doesn’t have to waste her own money to buy the things she wants, and since Nat didn’t give her a limit, that meant she can spend as much as she wants. Taew loves free money but more she loves buying expensive items.

She sees the best looking top, and stops to look at it closely. It’s pretty, cute, and would look great on her. She grabs the top, but finds that someone else has a hold of it too. Taew is pissed that someone else is touching her top.

Taew: Ahhh. Get your filthy hands off my top.

Rita: Your top? I’m sorry, but you didn’t buy it yet, so technically, it’s still the store’s.

Taew: You probably can’t even afford this top, so let go.

Rita: How would you know? What if I just want it so you can’t have it?

Taew: That’s pathetic, but then again, everyone wants to be like me.

Rita: Dream on little girl. (Before Taew could respond, Rita pulls the top away from Taew’s grasp and quickly walks to the cashier to pay for it.) See you later.

Right after Rita buys it, she walks out of the store and hands it to the first girl she sees. Taew is so angry right now, she throws her bags to the ground and screams, causing all the customers to look at her then leaving. The employees and the managers are mad that Taew made them lose their customers, and call security to kick her out. Rita hides behind a corner and sees all of this, then lets out a little laugh.

Rita: This is only the beginning Taew, this is just a taste of what’s in store of you.

Taew finally gets home after dealing with security, and screams at the top of her lungs, causing everyone to come see what the problem is.

Yin: What’s the matter honey?

Taew: Mom! It was the worst day ever.

Tok: What happened?

Taew: I was kicked out of the mall today.

Yin: What?!

Taew: I know. Do they not know who I am? But I swear that girl messed with the wrong person.

Yin: What girl?

Taew: She stole my shirt, gave it to some poor girl, then she made me so mad. I think I’m going to crazy. Ahhh, no one does to me and expects to get away with it. Ugh, I’m going to take a shower, those security guards touched my arms, and I feel so filthy right now. Tell me when Rome comes home, I want him to deal with this.

She lets out one more scream before walking upstairs. The maids follow bringing up her bags. The phone rings, and the maid informs Yin and Tok that Rome called to tell them that he will be home late. They are afraid because if Rome is not here, then there’s no one here who will be able to control Taew and her tantrums.

Rome: It’s only 3, and I have to stay here until 7. I hope mom and dad can handle Taew while I’m working. I’m so hungry, heehee since there’s no one here, I’ll just go grab a quick bite to eat.

As Rome walks out of the front doors, he bumps into someone, knocking them down.

Rome: Oh, I’m so sorry. I didn’t---you.

Rita: Ow. What? Do I know you?

Rome: Oh, I’m Rome. We met before.

Rita: I’m sorry I don’t think I’ve met you before.

Rome: Uh, it was at your brother’s funeral.

Rita: Maybe. I’m sorry but I couldn’t focus that day.

Rome: That’s okay. Oh, sorry, here, let me help you.

He lends his hand out, and Rita grabs a hold. When Rome pulls her upward, Rita gives herself a little push and lands in a hug position, where her lips gentle brushed across the side of his chin. She then lightly pushes Rome and looks down.

Rome: Sorry.

Rita: It’s okay. I should be the one who’s sorry; I wasn’t looking where I was going.

Rome: No, not at all. So where were you going?

Rita: I don’t it is okay to tell a stranger, so I’m going to go now.

Rome: Wait (grabs her arm) why don’t I treat you out to lunch, as an apology for running into you?

Rita: I don’t know.

Rome: Please, it’s the least I can do.
