hey everyone, i want to share some of my stuff in the archive section. the problem is that i can't. i'm using YSI...after i start uploading, it'll be ok for about twenty to thirty minutes but then go to the "cannot display page." i'm not sure what the problem is, but can someone help? maybe recommend something for a speedier upload process? that may be the problem. thank you in advance.

okay sometimes it does that but the link went thru...so next time I suggest that u send an email to yourself...it happened to me but when I checked my email it went thru...I even download to double check and it did work...

If u did that and it still doesn't work check u're computer...scandisk or whatever to see if it's internal error...if that still doesn't work...I suggest emailing them.

aww dang, how can i check for internal errors? the whole scandisk thing? would that be in control panel? i'm sorry. i'm so computer illiterate! please help.

It's in System tools I think...check u're Internet Explorer also to see if there's error.

If you ask me I don't think its that serious of a problem. But quite an annoying one.

For example when I upload to yousendit.com sometimes I get that blank error page. But on my email it sent me the link which means somehow when it connect you to the server some error happened. Equally sometimes I would get no email after this page which means the file wasn't completed


I think this is a common problem because these servers are being hammered hard and you might lose connect to them once in awhile. Think of it this way.. you know when you directly download files from somewhere, like a link, do you notice that sometimes it would error out? and you would have to restart it all over again?

Maybe there's a solution to this kind of problem.. for example when the server is timing out your computer wait tils its back. If you use download managers or some other programs you notice that things can resume from where you left off. Perhaps there's a program like that for uploads (although the server has to support it) but I am not aware of any.

Anyone know let us know.

well, at least i know it's not just me. but yeah, at least you get the links sent to you after the error occurs, it's not even doing that for me.

as for the download managers, i have DAP for faster downloads but you have to register in order to use the upload accelerator.

...i was just hoping someone would have a better solution for fixing this problem...that is, before i resorted to purchasing DAP upload accelerator.

but yeah, if even you are unaware of any programs that could help me, darvil, i probably won't have any luck in finding anything either.

I had the same thing happen to me. I was uploading a mv on yousendit and it never went nowhere.

Yeah i got the same problem for severals time it took me like an age to upload one episode..cause it keep saying error and error...Pissed me off sometimes too.... :blink: Well finally it is nothing wrong with my internet..it means that the server..i mean yousendit got the problem right?????

i don't know how to upload using anything else other than YSI. lol well, technically, i haven't tried any other stuff. is it all pretty much like YSI...you know, megaload, sharebigfile, turboload, and filefont, etc?

i know that filefont has been a pain in the ass lately, so i'll stay away from that one for awhile.

dat file is basically a rigid form of MPG. Basically what I do is just to drag that DAT file to my HD then rename it from whatever.dat to whatever.mpg That way people won't post up questions like "how do I open dat files". Makes it easier for everyone.

Although thats how I do it some people have been telling me that newer VCDs you can't just pull it out but rather you have to rip it. I've never had to do that and all the files I've pulled onto my HD don't seem to have any problems so I really can't help you there.

I'm sure someone else will recommend a program to rip it. But first why don't you just try what I do? see if you run into any problems like it not transferring or file seems to been corrupted etc.

I use Realplayer...after I save somthing onto my harddrive it gives me an option or mpg, rm,etc...I click on wmv and it converts it for me.

would doing any of this change the amount of MB it originally has? b/c the first disc i tried to upload kept going for more than six hours until i decided to stop it. i didn't realize it had so many MB on it.

lol VCD files are like 600 megs each yea so there is alot of space on it.

What you can do is reduce the size using a divx xvid codec.

600 megs is going to take a while to upload.

Well.. looks like I'll have to write a tutorial for you guys.

I just got a new software.. it lets me record my TV screen and make it into videos.. so I could make video tutorials.. that's probably for the best. Easier to learn when its video.
