as for maya_fantasy, i'll ask darvil on that because he did a system merge this morning and it might've happened when u posted. if u're questioning if i've deleted ur post, i did not, and i'm not that childish.
It's alright don't worried about it, I can always reply again. I was just wondering why my post got deleted, thought I said something wrong when I post comparing Obama and Osama LOL.

thanks ya'll for the advices....

in the end.. no government agencies or business was able to help, but instead it was family and churches. My sister got her mortgage paid by a catholic church and each of us chipped in.. but what about next month? Sigh....

even if they lowered her mortage.. her income to payment ratio is to large.. she'd still be in trouble.
Sorry to hear that, but they will check her income to her monthly expense and see where she stand, they will find other help agency for her that deal with this kind of problem or find some finacial aid for the time being if they know her situation. Atleast with this process, they wouldn't just put a foreclosure on and kick her out. They'll find a way to work with you, so is best to try to communicate with them. They have specific department to deal with this stuffs, don't just talk to customer service, those peoples just there to answer the phone and hackle you for your payment, but they know nothing about helping you out. So goodluck ok and hope your sister find help soon.

did she call the actual mortgage company? and she did say if they can't help her, she might head to foreclosure? if they don't help, that's kind of awful... since all financial gurus suggest doing that when u are in financial hardship, call and ask if they can give u some time to make up that payment.

whoops, this is meant for ladyofdarkness.

yes, they called... uhmm.. i dunno the exact details, but my bro-in-law says they only do that for people who bought their homes a couple years ago. Unfortunately, he and my sister bought theirs in 2002!!!

Right now, we are researching different options to try and get some help. My bro-in-law is also looking for a job vigurously. He is an elder man who used to do engineering and managgement, but he says he's willing to scrub toilets and flip burgers if need be. very sad.. :(

Thanks for all the advices guys.

here's a story that i heard two nights ago at dinner...

this one guy bought his house in 2006.. 4 bedroom 5 bath 2 story, cost 560,000... he drives an m5, his wife sc400.. he then faced foreclosure.. so he said f' it and walked away from it.. however he still lives there.. he walked away from the loan.. went into foreclosure but still live there.. how? well his wife's brother bought the house for 260,000 and he (the original guy) is paying mortgage on that..

so how is that heart warming story? <_< see these people disgust me..

so on to today... did anyone see the news in pennsylvania with the new group of black panthers acting as security guards at polling places? there were clips of those who were carrying night sticks being escorted away by polices.. then in another area.. they covered a story on people who voted for the first time.. a lady who look to be in her 50's.. she's voting for the first time.. so the news reporter who is black.. asked if she is excited that for the first time a black man is on the ballot.. she said and i quote "this is not about black or white.. this is about changing this country for the better."

^Well, we can't take that for it too.. and of course, race play a part in here too .. that we can't denied.
could be that these past years, they have not vote b/c they thought the white folks can handle it.
for me. it's a first time for me b/c i just turn citizen recently .. and i juggle between the two candidates, that's how i come to my decision.

did anyone watch BOSTON legal last night? .. pretty funny episode :loool:

ladyofdarkness, that is quite sad. not quite sure how it's like in florida but i know wage is pretty low compared to up here but u guys are fortunate with other things like car tax...blah blah blah lol... but that's another situation, and i just know because my friend just went back there because she's done with taxes here haha.

are there temp agencies that he can work with? has he gone thru them to help him look for jobs? i should know more of this job hunting situation since i've been out of jobs many times due to choice... but it's hard to jump back into the field when u've been out of it either by choice or not. has he applied to jobs like walmart, mcdonalds, supermarkets, and etc. ? since it's boiling down to the point of any jobs, are there asian restaurants that he can ask to get part time jobs?

omg i've responded for a while and forgot to hit add haha i got side tracked, sorry...

is anyone else staying up to watch the results?

I've monitored the voting things all day today.
logged on cnn during class break to see the result.
was nervous at beginning of vote result.
i jumped for joy when cnn announce, he won ..

definitely a night to remember --- looking forward for a better economy ..

i'm glad it's over, i can now concentrate on my study. :p

Congrats to President Obama !!!

i look forward to seeing whether or not obama goes with his policies and actually acts upon his words...or if it turns out to all be a bust...now that not only democratic people voted for him, he'll have to move away from his strictly leftist type policies and try and play to please both parties...i wonder how they'll play out with the democrats who voted for him solely on the basis of his extreme democratic policies...

it's been way too long since i've been on sw, and to stumble upon this thread.... WOW! i read all pages, each and every thread, though some i wish to ignore :)

n yes, by this time, history's been made and is in the making... YES WE DID!

couldn't help to tear up during the victory speech... i'm obviously not going to articulate my entire emotions and views of the election on here, as i'm sure there's enough of me on here, but just a small a thought to chime in on this thread :)

this was an awesome thread next to the prop 8 one. anan, i totally commend u for being such an awesome fellow earthling to have stirred the pot and posted this discussion, even though ur not as directly affected by the presidential election of our nation beyond the foreign relations level, u realize what's at hand for the world and not only americans. :) ning, and cecilia, couldn't have agreed with u more on all points made. wish i had came in on this thread much earlier on, but, glad to see how it unraveled. and for the fellow republicans or McCain/Palin supporters in the thread, interesting inquisitions and insights to put on the table for a nice deconstruction by Obama/Biden supporters; this thread really gave me a chance to step back and deconstruct some more of what personally believed in and saw it reflect in the words and thoughts of u guys. n i'm glad such a forum exist as a platform for a humanly democratic process. this is how democracy should work in a free nation, and it's happening right here in SW. :D

two sides to one coin. checks and balances. gotta love it. :)

^but it doesn't mean, they'll go with the first proposal.
it's good to have ppl with different thoughts come together to debate ..
in the end, pick the best decision ... concluding the best result rather than going with the GUTS feeling.
