I think the foundations of the plot is ok it's not a terrible plot just the writer isn't good. He doesn't know how to write in a way that's suspensefu and some of the plot really isn't unique but I think the writing team for the lakorn version can make it more thrilling. The writer she wrote DJA, Toranee, Klin Kasalong, and she also worked with Act Art in Krating which I enjoyed A LOT. So if you're familiar with some of her works, you can gauge the potential of the lakorn version. I would actually describe the leads in LK as Fai and Jeed but in period setting, they have really similar personalities and even the part that pra aek used to have a lover who died due to nang aek's relative is similar.
One major thing I would change in the lakorn version is I would change them from getting just engaged to getting married lol so we get a bed scene lol. It's like Rising Sun I don't know why they only got engaged when they can go all out and just get married plus Luang In was in a rush to marry her anyways lol The reason also doesn't make sense why they had to get engaged. Luang In was recovering at her hospital which is basically an extension of her house and they thought it looked bad coz it wasn't appropriate for him to spend the night at her house when he wasn't a relative or engaged to her... but it shouldn't have been an issue coz he was a patient! lol but the writer wrote this as a means so the leads got engaged. It happens often in Thai novels and lakorns that the leads finds a reason to get engaged or married but I think Act Art needs to write a new scenario to make it more credible why they get engaged or end up having to live together for a greater reason. And the book it's funny, Pudsorn was annoyed he rushed to ask for her hand in marriage and she yelled at him for it but he said, but you still didn't reject me ahhahahahhaha what's also annoying about this part, the writer didn't even really write out a scene when they got engaged it was an after thought. The scene basically just started coz Robert came over to Pudsorn house to share some news with her and found that their engagement ceremony had just ended. Like what the hell. That's why this book isn't really worth buying or translating lol Out of 500 pages there's only like 20 pages worth translating lol
