Creepy Voice Message

Okay on June 17 I recieve the creepiest voice message ever on my cell phone. I don't answer phone calls from numbers I don't know. The call came from Nevada. I live in California and I don't know anyone form Nevada. I assume if they know me and really want to talk with me they'll leave a message. Sure enough this person left a message. The message said "I'm dying now". I was so freaked out. I kept it to myself at first because I don't want to get anyone involve. I try to comfort myself so I persuade myself it was a prank call. The person leaving the message was a guy and I'm not familar with this voice either.

Okay for a few days I was freaked and kept it to myself. Then yesterday, June 23, I got a call from Massachusetts. Again I didn't answer that call because it was coming form a wierd place. They left a message and it was the same message "I'm dying now" in the same manner and tone. This time I was relieve. I thought if this person was really dying they wouldn't be able to call me again and tell me they are dying now. Then I thought about is some more and thought "hey what if this person travel from Nevada to Massachusetts to commit suicide. I have the badest luck!" Okay then I told my sisters and let them listen to the voice message and then I deleted it. I deleted the first voice message already. Now I regrete deleting the messages because I'm unable to compare them to see if it was a recording or not.

Okay afterwards I follow my friend's advice and search for the number on google. I'm so glad I did. I found a lot of complaints coming form that number also. Here is the link Click Here. I'm so relieve there are other people recieving a call from that phone number also, however, I didn't find a complaint about "I'm dying now message" only about car warranty. I then search for the number that came from Massachusetts. I didn't find any complaint about that number but it left me the same voice message with the same voice and tone so I'm assuming it's from the same person.

I'm so relieve now that I wasn't that unlucky and recieve some random suicide message. I can't believe I kept quiet for so long. I got my cell phone number register in the do not call registry. Hopefully I don't get anymore creepy calls.

By the way, are they able to get to your other information. I got a call about some car warranty in my other cell phone on June 23. I think it might be related here. I didn't pay much attention because I don't own a car. Now I'm afraid of freakin Identity theft.

I'm waiting for my phone to be on the do not call registry. If I get another call from them again, I'm sure am going to file a complaint. This is harrassment!

Does anyone have any creepy calls and want to share with us?

Yes it is freaky. You know how stress I was when I get that voice message. People seriously needs to get a life. What really sucks is that you're wasting your minutes when you listen to your message to to delete it. It's like you have no choice but to listen to it. If only I know how to block those numbers out of my phone. I just got a call about 30 minutes ago again from them except the last 2 digits of their number has change. They left me a message but not the "I'm dying now". I know it's them cause of that one website I went to this site Click Here said that they'll switch the last 4 digits of their number. Well in a way it's cool because they didn't restrict their number so I was able to do research it. It would have been worse if I got restricted numbers.

I'll pick up if it's in my area code sometimes if it's an unknown person. But usually I'll just let it go to voice mail.

Lately, there's been a lot of marketers leaving voice splashes on people's voicemails or phones. The message that they leave sound urgeant like it has something to do with your accounts or something. Once you call them back, that's when they pitch their sale to you. I heard that cell phone numbers are not private anymore. They are now listed!!

*Off topic - I see a lot of that banner with Pong and the girl in the yellow.. what lakorn is that?

Ever got a phone call with your OWN NUMBER? I have!

LOL.. i was like staring at the screen.. going hmm this number looks so familiar.. then i realized it was my number. So, I answer it and I hear a dude's voice. The dude then kept on asking me questions.. but all I was saying was "Who is this?" hahah. I kinda thought it was my cousin. LOL. Anyway, the dude got tired of me asking "who is ths?" and blurted out "you're lop!". That's when I realized that it was one of my friends because nobody else calls me lop but her. haha, she used something to change her voice into a guy's voice.. and changed the number she was dialing from into mine. HAHA.

The car warranty call is a scam. Just hang up, don't talk or respond to them and don't press any of the numbers they told you to press. Some States is sueing them right now for scamming peoples. If you don't know who's on the other line, just simply hang up, and if they still bothering you, just call the police and explain to them what's going on... the police can trace the call.

You should watch "One Missed Call" or something like that. That movie teaches a very important lesson in not answering calls you don't know. Since you heard that message, you're probably going to die in like a month or two...ok, I'm just kidding.

Or am I? :p

^^ I've been trying to find that ringer from one missed call. That melody is so innocent, but twisted. And... I think in that movie.. you die no matter what, even if you don't answer it. It's like you're damned if you and damned if you don't.

Gosh that's so freaky. If regular people can do this, imagine what others can do. Man that's just wrong.

Yes I figure it's a scam. I don't even own a car LOL! Thanks for the advice.

Yeah I saw that one. I was thinking the same thing when I got this one voice message a long time ago right after I saw the preview to "One Missed Call". The message was really static so I couldn't make anything out. Probably there was poor reception. Then my sisters tease me saying stupid stuff, which scared me at that time. <_<

You're so funny...makes me laugh LOL! I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets freaky creepy calls. ;) I don't want to just go ahead and change my cell phone number. I got some friends I lost connection with and they might contact me through my cell. There is always a possibility. Well than again...I still keep my old cell phone activated but no one ever calls me. I think I'm going to shut my old cell in November. It's been a year since I got a new Cell (gift from someone) it's still activiated and no one calls. Oh well.

That's what I do when I get strange calls from numbers I don't recognize.
I'm like you, I don't answer unknown numbers because you never know if someone's trying to heck into your phone.
That's freaky though.

I remember this one time when my cousins were at my house and we received a weird call. We were playing video games and just having a blast when our phone rang. It wasn't any number that I recognize but it was our house phone so I picked it up. There was a dude on the other end and he was like:

"Can you pick me up."

He sounded drunk and just plain out of it. So I told the dude he got the wrong number and was about to hang up but the dude was like:

"My bike broke. Can you come pick me up?"

I told him several times I didn't know him but each time he kept on telling me to go pick him up. So I finally I told him I was tired and busy so I can't go pick him up, he's gonna have to call someone else. And the dude was like "Fine. I'll just walk then. Some friend you are."

I had it on speaker and my cousins had to try really hard not to burst out laughing..

One time I had a call from three numbers. 666. I thought the devil was calling me..
I would be freaked out to. I got a call from a number that was just 1 on my cell. I was like wth, but I picked it up anyway. I don't normally answer numbers on my cell that I don't recognize, I just send them to voicemail. Luckily I answered because it was someone calling me for a job interview for some place I applied for. haha.

the numbers are dialed up randomly concerning the car warranty. they'll call you anyway, if your number just pops up randomly to be dialed even if you didn't give out your number.

the spamming industry make millions of dollars. it's not about getting a life. it's about the money. the nigerian fraud really hit australia.
