Haha. An open ending is good. It's better than having them happily end up together. People tend to go back to their abusers. It's an endless cycle. At least we can create our own ending by thinking Mook did what's best for herself. I missed a couple weeks of this. I'm unsure when I'll catch up or if I'm even going to finish it.

They should had just stuck with the he went into monkhood because knowing how this drag, how Kim is and how weak Mook is, they most likely got back together. I can't wait to see Bow in that new lakorn if it is a horror cus she'll nail it.

Open ended endings are left to our imaginations but they're usually happy endings, not all, but the majority are, just not right away.

The ending is a bit confusing. It depends on how you perceive it like with all things. Haha.

The ending may have indirectly implied that Mook is going to return to Kim and patch up their relationship, perhaps stronger than before, in the near future. Mook has never had the heart to seriously run away from Kim. Mook goes to places that are full of memories of Kim, places where Kim knows Mook will be at. It's like Mook is always paving a path for Kim to find her, to reach her, to end up with her.

Kim begins telling Mook and the audience, again, the story about the island. Regardless of who or which pair, a man and a woman, who steps foot onto the island, they will meet with disaster if they don't possess true love for one another. Mook answers, I'm still looking to prove that theory. Kim asks if that's Mook's way of proving to see if it's true by visiting the island every single day by herself? Although, Mook denies that she's waiting for Kim, Kim is the only person who shows up to prove the legend, again.

Mook walks towards the shore. Kim asks her, what are your results in proving the legend? Mook answers, I know what true love is, but I still want to know how much does it have to be in order to be considered a disaster in life. Kim comes behind Mook and tells her, you'll never meet with disaster because the both of us possess true love for one another. But, Kim follows with, true love doesn't always end up together all the time. Kim ends it with, let's meet each other here on this island, everyday, okay? Mook breaks out a smile. Kim returns the smile while looking at Mook and they walk their separate paths with that smile.

There are two endings:

1. A happy ending. Mook was in a way testing Kim to see if he'll find his way back to her. (Way too easy, by the way. Lol) If he did, that would be true love. Kim even challenges the legend knowing that disaster would never touch the both of them because they possess true love for one another and asks Mook to meet him on the island everyday.  However, Kim has finally learned that two people who love each other don't always have to end up together. That was a concept he never understood nor accepted up until the ending. He was always running around like a mad man because he couldn't tolerate seeing Mook with another man besides himself or moving on with life without him. He was too attached, engulfed, and obsessed with Mook in a way, that he couldn't bear losing her and did a whole bunch of creepy stalker habits. He was the male version of Pak but had a better ending in that Mook actually loved him in return.

That phrase of, "Love is like a butterfly. Hold it too loose and it will fly away. Hold it too tight and it will die. Let it fly and if it returns to you, then it was meant to be yours." They're at that stage and of course, they both found their way back to each other. With everything that the both of them have gone through, separately and together, both have learned a lot about love, not just love, but true love. If the both of them can accept each other's popular flaws, mistakes, past, and different facades, their love just leveled up, strengthened, and is in the process of being rebuilt from square one, from scratch, but only this time, a lot more solid than before. They're beginning step by step again, day by day, as strangers in a way, since this whole ordeal has shown them different sides of each other the other never knew about. But they're slowly builiding up their love, unblinded, with no masks, no sweetness, just raw realness for who they truly are.

True love conquers all is reiterated again as the concept is expressed through Kim and Mook together again in the end after all of the complications and drama. They survived together. They didn't die regardless of how many times Mook was shot at, Kim was shot at, Kim was abused by Pak's dad, both Mook and Kim were ran over by Pak...ending results are, they both survived it all to meet again on the island. They proved that their love for one another is in fact true love. All of the people who were against their love and interfered were eliminated in the end. The storm has finally left and clouds cleared out. They see each other on the opposite side still with a heart full of true love, the same heart that began the journey, that has never changed despite all of the challenges and obstacles. Both were lost at one point but with true love, they found their way again.

Both Kim and Mook verbally admits that they both know what true love is, which means, they both passed the test and proved the legend together.

2. A sad ending. Define disaster? This isn't Kim and Mook's first time on the island. A lot has happened between the time they first stepped foot onto the island to the day they met again on the island at the ending scene. Disaster did hit the both of them. Their lives are ruined, people they love passed away, they are left with so many wounds, and there's too much pain between them to ever heal completely and begain all over again. In a way, they didn't have true love when they first came onto the island. That's why they were hit from all different angles. However, both finally understand the concept of loving someone doesn't always mean you'll end up with them. The phrase of, " you can keep certain people in your heart, but not in your life."

But like Mook asked, how do you measure or define disaster? To measure what true love is? Or how much disaster or to what extent can you confront before you call it quits and say, it's not true love after all? And I think this is when both realize that it doesn't take a legend or story to prove their love. In their hearts, they both know that it's true love regardless of how ugly it may be to some.

I personally think it's an open ended happy ending. This is how I see it, disaster hit the people around them like Pak and Tada. Sure, Kim and Mook has a lot of wounds and scars from what has happened, but they're still alive and with time, those wounds and scars will slowly disappear. To overcome those disastrous losses in their lives later on with time and come back together only proves that they do have true love for one another and that can never be broken or changed. The person or situation can change, but the heart and true love never does.

It ties back into the narration Mook did on the last episode, which is, Mook is risking her all again in making her last decision. She is choosing Kimhan again after all of the mess, risking and gambling one more time.

I think it's a happy open ending. However, I would have liked it more if they were crystal clear and have Kim become a monk for the rest of his life with Mook moving forward with hers. That would be the most realistic ending or if not, have Kim and Mook separately reminisce their sweet history together but never meet again. Seriously though, how can Kim ever forgive Mook for lying in court and how can Mook ever forgive Kim for forcing Tada to kill himself?

I guess, Mook never got pregnant. Lol I guess, P'Tua already decided an open ended finale. If Mook was pregnant, the child would have patched them up and I hate endings like that, for the sake of the child, so it's much much better this way. Mook doesn't need to get pregnant to be loved by Kim. I liked the juxtaposition shown between Pak who was once pregnant to Mook who was never pregnant and Kim still only chose Mook.

Good points, I loved the development of each character. Both Kim and Mook began the lakorn with such happy vibes then they turned sour, bitter, and ugly, then at the end, they grew up so much and became so mature and understood life so much. I guess, life is like that. There is no happy ending in life. Life moves on, on a day by day basis.

The reason why I say it's more likely a happy open ending is that, with an open ending, there will always be a ray of hope and light. It's sort of like that saying, not saying anything is like saying something. Lol

I have that habit of lengthy posts. Lol

Just wanted to add, Kim and Mook began with love but ended with true love. The love they began with still had elements of selfishness, but at the end of the story, their love grew into true love with hardships and loss.

True love ultimately is forgiving someone who is undeserving, still loving someone full of mistakes, flaws, ugliness, someone who doesn't listen, someone who may not choose you in the end and still, you're happy and only wish them happiness even though you're in pain. Kim and Mook finally let go, forgave, and wished each other nothing but happiness. True love is yes, giving a second chance. Lol

I really liked how the lakorn was produced. I can understand the ending from all ways. As much as I would like to see Kim suffer more than this but at the same time, I believe in true love and forgiving too. It's like a drug addict child. Regardless of how much hurt and pain the child has caused with his addiction and I mean, it's bad, as a parent or lover who truly loves that person, there will always be hope in changing that person or that person returning back to normal or better. It's hope that lives from true love.

Tua's direction has definitely improved, while I enjoyed Hua Jai Teun, the character's were not written very well and every single character in this lakorn was detailed to perfection. Mike is one of my favourite newer actors and I don't think he's an incredibly strong actor but he is a pretty good actor and this lakorn has made me see a depth in him that I haven't seen yet. I could tell during the first quarter of the lakorn, Mike didn't get the right emotions yet or it wasn't deep enough but the more the lakorn progressed, the more his acting improved. He's very good at playing the brooding type, angry, and vengeful but he struggles with tapping into the emotional side. He can't cry if his life depended on it so that's the one downside to his acting, but he is still relatively new and pretty good at everything else so it's something I can accept.

Kimhan is a difficult hero, while I can see where he's coming from and at times I feel the need to defend him just because he is the p'ek and because he's Michael LOL. Nonetheless he is selfish and an opportunist. For example, Kim only goes back to Pak to apologize because he had no one left. I can certainly guarantee that if Mook took him back at her most angry point, no way in hell would Kim even think of Pak. While I know Kim loves Mook, it's a very superficial kind of love, Mook definitely has truer love for him than he has for her. But I'll defend him on one thing, Tada. Tada deserved every bit of what Kim did to him and I felt for him when Tada killed himself just to make Kim look the villain. Tua did such a good job with Tada that I feel both pity and hatred towards him. I pity him because he loves Dao and never knew about his child and how much he loves Mook, but I hate him for his selfishness and callousness towards Mun. Tua did this great thing where he made Tada seem so genuine about telling Kim that Mun cheated on him to the point that I am 50/50 about Mun actually cheating but Tada is deep enough to kill himself to spite Kim that I have trouble believing him as well. The fact that Tua didn't show whether Mun had an affair was a good choice. I don't think Kim deserved the slack he got regarding Tada, he definitely deserved more slack for what he did to Mook but it seems like Mook cares more for her brother than for herself.

Mook is incredibly weak, I feel like she should have been stronger towards Kim after he strangled and slapped her but it all seemed to me out of her mind almost instantaneously. I can probably predict that it won't be long after the ending that she'll get back together with Kim. I think in the end, her love for Kim and all those memories will beat the bad ones. Mook is the one who easily forgives anyways.

Paktra and her father's relationship was what really stood out to me by the end. Despite it all, he is just an old man who loves his daughter, no matter how ridiculous the steps are that would make her happy. Bo's really good, she has this insane thing about her in her eyes whenever she makes a snide comment while smiling at Mook. You really just feel for her by the end with the baby thing. She's so obsessed with loving Kim that she wants to have his child and keep it against all odds, just for a small symbol of what she considers love. I read this great book recently where the main character comments on the things she'll go through to keep the product of her love, Paktra really reminds me of that line.

This lakorn was so vulgar, shocking, deliciously scandalous and rough yet it all fit together nicely. Tua definitely took some large risks and I think of lot of them succeeded into a well rounded lakorn.

This is another Mai Sin Rai Fai Sawart. Why do Thai authors write stories like this? I've been heartbroken and traumatized twice by Sam and Natiya in their movie versions. Sigh. Idk if I can bear watching this.
