Precious Hearts Romances, the country’s most celebrated publisher of pocket book love stories, is now the newest teleserye to lighten up the ABS-CBN Hapontastic. or its initial offering, Precious Hearts Romances presents a story written by Rose Tan entitled Bud Brothers.

Bud Brothers follows the story of eight male friends who together own a flower arm business. Pio, Vince, Wayne, Carlo, Pete, Rei, Ed, Monty, and Dick will each take on a journey of love and self-discovery with the different women who swill come into their respective lives.

i want to make a comment on their WILLING SCENE. mmm... seems like director FM Reyes prepared their WILLING SCENE a lot. though they changed the sequence, its okay because they execute the story very well.

I am excited about Book 6... because its one of my favorite books, aside from book 2... Though Roxanne Guinoo backed out from the series, its okay... because it turns out that Kaye Abad will be the one to play as Pepper. towards the ending of Book 5, the Book 6 preview was shown. Rei and Pepper's story will start in June 18 (thursday).

the Book 6 will be directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, the one who directed the book 2 and 3. so i am expecting that the book 6 will much more fun for love and hate relationship.

Kaye Abad and Guji Lorenzana​

Rei and Pepper are childhood friends when they were still little, but when they grew up they learn to hate each other as Rei didn't like Pepper's attitude who's spoiled brat. while Pepper didn't like Rei's being perfectionist. their fathers Don Pepe and Fidel build the jewelry business, it has been their business since Rei and Pepper weren't born yet.

not until one day, Don Pepe and Fidel had a war. since its getting worse, Pepper needs to find a way to let their fathers be friends again before they'll divide the shares of the company and her father plans to sell the 50% share. Rei and Pepper had no choice but to connive to let their fathers be friends again.

from all the Bud Brothers, they say that Rei's the most romantic person since he has the talent of writing love letters. his friends always get intrigue if they found out that Rei has new love life. he always had the specific woman he likes, he prefers the attitude and standard like Hiromi. its just too far from what he sees in Pepper. yes, he hates her and there's no way they could be friends nor lovers. however, the Mr. Romantic turns out to be unromantic when he's with Pepper.

Pepper made up a plan to solve the problems of their fathers, so she and Rei needed to pretend as lovers.


one of the theme song that the book 6 will play is Guji Lorenzana's song since he's actually a singer and a commercial model. the Bud Brothers Series is his first acting stints on tv.

its just that the book 5 segment was one of those challenging scenes for Betchay because of aunt Luz. but since she made it into success about the Lengua Estofado recipe and aunt Luz loves her dish.... she's happy now. now, it's another challenge for the married couple. i dont know what will be the scenes today... but for sure its a funny scene again.

It seems that the newest Bud Brother love team, Kaye Abad and Guji Lorenzana are off to a good start as Guji candidly admitted that Kaye is his type of girl. The two young stars will be seen in the afternoon series Precious Hearts Romances presents Bud Brothers this week on ABS-CBN.

Guji declared that there is a possibility he will fall in love with Kaye. "She glows on and off cam. She's a great person and she's my type: petite and is very into music. I think I fall for her a little bit everyday." This made it easier for them to work together especially during their kissing scene, which was taken on the first day they met.

The singer-actor also shared that he felt anxious when he found out that Kaye was going to be his partner since they didn't have enough time for a workshop. "I'm really glad that I'm being paired with someone well known. I actually want to work with someone who's a veteran like Kaye because I want to learn from her."

In a previous interview last May 29, Guji told the entertainment press that his love team partner for the upcoming episode would be Roxanne Guinoo. In fact, he described the workshop that he and Roxanne attended in preparation for this show. This was also what was announced during their press conference last May.

However, it seems that there has been a change in the lineup of the show since Guji will now be paired with Kaye Abad instead of Roxanne Guinoo.

The newest episode titled "Pepper's Roses" tells the story of a carefree fantasy show writer Pepper (Kaye) who asks her serious childhood friend Rei (Guji) to help her mend their fathers' differences. But because of their plans, slowly but surely, their past closeness that was lost during the years is rekindled.

Will the couple's relationship end up in a sweet romance or are they destined to just remain best friends forever?

Kaye Abad returns to television in the next story of Precious Hearts Romances presents Bud Brothers. Kaye takes over the role originally intended for Roxanne Guinoo who was supposed to play leading lady to newbie actor Guji Lorenzana. Kaye will play a children’s show writer who falls in love with one of the Bud Brothers.

In the chapter entitled Pepper’s Roses, Pepper (Kaye) and Rei (Guji) are childhood friends who pretend to be a couple to fix the rift between their fathers. In the middle of the ruse, Pepper and Rei will discover just how important they are to each other. Can Pepper and Rei admit their feelings for one another?

Kaye, who started in showbiz as part of Ang TV, is best known for her role as girlfriend of John Lloyd Cruz in the long running weekly drama Tabing Ilog, a show which also launched the careers of Baron Geisler, Jodi Sta. Maria, and Desiree Del Valle. Kaye was also paired with Marvin Agustin in the teleserye Sanay Wala Nang Wakas which also starred Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa. Kaye was last seen on TV via a guest appearance with Joross Gamboa in May Bukas Pa.

Rei and Pepper are childhood friends because of their fathers. because of their closeness, even their fathers wanted them to get marry. but Rei going to America to study there while Pepper is left crying. Rei promise that he'll go back as soon as he finish his studies there, he left Pepper with promising words and if Pepper misses him so much he want her to count from 1 to 10.

20 years later, present day...

Pepper's the writer of a children's show. her creativity makes her profession wanted even more, the likes of the fantasies for kids. it only shows how she was so happy-go-lucky. though she's also a brat but that was years ago, she'd already change.

at her desktop wallpaper is the picture of her and Rei when they were still kids. yes, Rei was back... but he didn't come back for her anymore. everything changed, he's not the same Rei she used to know. though she was still hoping... but it seems like there are no chances to be close friends just like before.

Rei's not only dedicated to his work, aside from invested his own money to the flower farm, he helps his bud brothers of running the business. the bud brothers Pio, Carlo and Monty who's present in the farm having a meeting about the event. discussing that they needed to impress the people who will go to the event. that is why, aside from naming their farm as Bud Brothers flower farm... they also have band namely "Bud Brothers" who has gigs in Club Balisong. the guys are already up to something for their event and of course in their band Rei's the vocalist as always.

meanwhile, the production of the children's show couldn't afford to lose Pepper because she was really indeed a great writer. she finally got home, as she got out of the car... Rei just stared at her. she waved at her as she was being polite but Rei just nod and went inside already. she frowned because she's always been nice but Rei's not the same person she met before. it's the different Rei now.

Pepper got home and heard that her father is going to sell the 50% share of the company that his father and Don Pepe created. since the two fathers were at war, Pepper's father Fidel wanted to sell his share because he dont want to work with Don Pepe anymore.

Rei got home and found out that his father's sick. but not that sick at all, their family doctor says that its his father's way of thinking... simply because he was depress. the doctor told him that yesterday Fidel also called him to go check up on his condition but it was the same as Don Pepe's condition. the two were only depress because they're not in good terms at the moment.

of course Pepper wont allow his father to sell his share because its Don Pepe and him who created it. but her father is too stubborn.... and so as Rei, his father is stubborn as hell. because he dont wanna talk to Fidel either.

Pepper discuss her problem to her friend. then her friend suggested that would Pepper she take these problems by herself only, her friend suggested to ask the person infront of thei house. she was referring to Rei. explaining that since their father were having rift, Pepper shouldnt owned the problem only but also ask Rei if what they will do since their fathers' rift is getting worse.

at the flower farm. Pio, Carlo, Monty and Rei had the meeting about the event to discuss if what they will do at the event so that the people would be impress even more to them. but then Pepper Duque called, the immature and spoiled brat.... he hated her because she never grow up. Pepper called because they needed to meet, she didn't tell if what is all about but of course one of the reasons she needed to meet up with him is to discuss about their fathers' rift.

the bud brothers teased Rei because they know that Pepper is Rei's childhood friend. a wild child like Carlo said. Monty got interested and asked if she's pretty... Rei said that she's pretty but crazy. Pio, Carlo and Monty just laugh but keep on teasing at Rei who's about to go because he's going to meet up with Pepper.

meanwhile, after Pepper hanged up the phone her friend tease her that she and her childhood friend is going out on a date. Pepper just said yes that she's going on a date... a date with snob, too proud for himself and serious childhood friend of her.

Pepper and Rei finally agreed to each other on how to fix the rifts between their fathers. so Pepper gave him the complimentary tickets she bought for them, telling Rei that he needed to invite Don Pepe to attend and watch the play. the plan is that once they arrived at the play concert with their fathers, it will turn out that accidentally and coincidentally, Don Pepe meets Fidel in that place.

back to their homes, both Pepper and Rei invited their fathers to watch the play telling their fathers about the their younger years that both Rei and Pepper watched a play when they were little. the two agreed. after that, Pepper and Rei call at each other telling themselves that they succeeded to their plan of convincing their fathers to go out with them to watch a play.

the bud brothers Pio, Carlo and Monty was teasing on Rei because he and Pepper will going out on a date. but Rei tells them that its not a date. the next morning, Pepper got out of the house still preparing herself to go to work. she reminded Rei about the play and tells him not forget to bring his smile later. she was actually joking around with him because she knew that Rei is a serious guy.

Pepper blocks his way, he was about to go to work but she was teasing him all over again. but Pepper knew that he couldn't hit her by his car no matter he was serious or arrogant he was. Pepper returns to her house as she turn around, Rei didn't know why a sudden flush coming through him. he was staring at her behind.

she's at work and preparing coffee for her boss then she go talks with Jing, to tell her that she needs her help because she wanted to dress for the play later and wanted to appear like decent woman infront Rei. shoot! Jing's always been her friend and she will help her.

outside the theater play where the reception was held after the play, there was Pepper full dressed up and she's not late. she's actually nervous but she wanted to see how Rei look like today. the play haven't even started yet and there she was... she was waiting for Rei.

finally Rei arrives, they were both speechless as they saw each other's faces. Rei must be impress a little bit with Pepper because she finally dressed up in a decent way. while Pepper always got the same impression whenever she sees Rei, he dressed up as fine man.

the two ask each other where are their fathers. they end up having the same answer as their fathers will just follow, but Rei realize it right away that they were stupid... because since their fathers' not around. it only means that they didn't succeed to their plans. they will end up watching the play just him and Pepper. but she wanted to give their fathers 15 minutes more because she was hoping that their fathers will come.

they've been waiting for 15 minutes and Rei tells her that the play is starting already. but Pepper still hoping even though its hopeless already, pulling him to sit with her on the stairway but Rei doesn't want to. when Pepper sits on the stairway he told her that its dirty so he borrowed a seat from the guard and gave it to her. Pepper was touch because he was not only a fine a man but a gentleman.

she grabs his hand for them to sit together at the one chair. but all of a sudden Pepper felt something static between them as her barenaked arms touched to his, it's been years since they haven't got so close to each other. it reminded her that eversince Rei got back from the States, they're the same as they were kids before... they were not close anymore, now that they turned into adults.

it suddenly rained and Rei's not in the mood anymore because they've been waiting for so long and yet it rained. Pepper didn't mind it, she stood up and rush herself to play with the rain. to Rei while watching Pepper playing outside the rain, it reminded him the little Pepper he used to play with. the cheerful one, the kid he knew, his playmate since they're indeed childhood friends.

Pepper: Stop!

Pepper: stop looking at me! (the she kept teasing on him that he was jealous because she played with the rain, so she invited him to join her.)

she came to him and wiped her wetness to his clothes and stepped on his shoes. then she realize that she's clinging onto him. staring at each, and kiss him. then he kiss her back.

Pepper: stop looking at me! (the she kept teasing on him that he was jealous because she played with the rain, so she invited him to join her.)
Rei: i'll get wet! my clothes and shoes....
Pepper: ah... so you're afraid to get huh...

she came to him and wiped her wetness to his clothes and stepped on his shoes. then she realize that she's clinging onto him. staring at each, and kiss him. then he kiss her back.

Episode 2...

after the kiss. the next day, Rei tells Pio that he and Pepper kissed. same with Pepper as she goes into work she tells Jing that they kissed and she was ask if Rei was a good kisser. But Pepper dont want to discuss any further, since she's lack of sleep because of the script. But Jing teases her that if she lack of sleep by thinking of Rei's kiss and wanted to hear the whole story of how did it happened, she was interested to know if there was tongue-tagging involvement during their kissing scene.

Jing tells Pepper that she knew that Pepper was attracted to Rei from the start and she wont accept any excuses from her that Rei was only her childhood crush before because there is something deeper than that.

Rei explains to Pio that how could he ever fall for a kid (referring to Pepper who's immature.) but Pio wanted to tease him and that its obviously that Rei's starting to deny the fact there was something about their kiss. Rei still insist that he hate her, not much that he hate her... it's just that Pepper's not his type of woman.

meanwhile, after Pepper told Jing about what happened. Jing was right about Pepper's feelings for her childhood friend. just like Rei, Pepper just dont want to take serious about the kiss.

Jing: you still can't deny that kiss... because it's not like one of your script that you can 'undo'. you have to deal with it.
Pepper: just go... i'm still sleepy...

at the flower farm. Pio, Carlo, Monty and Rei were practicing for their presentation at the end of the wedding bazaar event. Monty was task to sing Rei's composition while Pio for the keyboard, Carlo for the drums and Rei for the guitar. but while practicing, Pio, Carlo and Monty started to tease on Rei.

but when their practice became serious, he thought about Pepper... about what happened. about their kiss. he stopped playing the guitar and tells them that he needs a girlfriend right away. so Monty suggested his cousin that will come visit the Philippines, Monique.

at Pepper's house, she just got home and his father was in the mood to jog around the subdivision. she goes straight to her bathroom as she was about to take a shower until their maid told her that her father and her uncle Pepe (Rei's father) were fighting at the street. so she hurriedly wrap the robe to her body and gets out of the house to stop them.

the fight was getting worst until she screams to tell them to stop but her robe got untied and she got stripped infront of the crowd. they went back inside the house and scolds her father that she got stripped because of the fight between her father and uncle Pepe.

Jing walk towards her and ask her if what Pepper wants, if good news or bad news. Pepper didn't care as long she had to spill it if what's the good news and bad news since she has her own problem to solve. Jing tells her that their timeslot of the children's show was transferred and their rival is a japanese anime dubbed in filipino, so Pepper gets upset even more. because Pepper dont know how to beat their rival, simply because children loves anime... and less children now who are watching educational tv shows.

aside from that, Pepper's own problem about the rifts of her father and Rei's father is worsen already. Jing told her not to solve the problem alone, since there's someone who's also involve and she needs Rei to help her to the solve the problem between their fathers.

but Pepper doesnt want to, after what happened... she dont wanna ask Rei for a help anymore. so Jing tries to suggest another one that maybe can solve her problem but Rei needs to cooperate. that she and Rei needed to pretend as lovers so that their fathers will be friends soon.

Pepper takes her advice as she was trying to reach Rei's phone. but it was too late for him to answer because his phone suddenly drain.

Rei's innermind theater: she might gonna ask me about that kiss?
Pepper's innermind theater: that bastard... does he dont wanna see me?... fine, then i'll be the one to see him. i needed to see him.

Rei finally meets Monique when Monty brought her to the farm. there's no doubt that he'll easily fall for this girl since she's pretty... prettier than Pepper. Rei invites her right away and tour her to their farm.

Pepper arrives at the flower farm, looking for Rei because she needed to see him just like as what she planned. the plan that she needs Rei to cooperate with her, for their fathers. and so there was Carlo whom she first saw.

Next scene will be on Episode 3...

i love the scenes of Carlo and Pepper.

at first Carlo was hesitant to accompany Pepper to see Rei because he knows that Rei's with someone at the moment. but later, he followed Pepper. she clings onto Carlo as if they're FC (feeling close).

Carlo: (right when Pepper cling to his arms. he look at her.) are we close? (it sounded like a funny joke on how Carlo reacted of Pepper's being FC to him.)
Pepper: i might slip here, you should be gentleman...
Carlo: (then his attention got into her hair.) nice hair, huh...
Pepper: thanks...
Carlo: is it dead already? (he was referring if Pepper's hair was dead because of the unsuccessful curling her hair. in the book's description, Pepper's trying hard so much to curl hair even if it doesn't fit her. Rei somewhat thinks of her that Pepper doesn't know how to comb her hair.)
Pepper: (she just laugh.) not really...
Carlo: (he touch one of her curly hair...) wow... its like a spring. (he sounded so ignorant that he joke around with her hairstyle.)

trivia: Kaye Abad and John Prats are both ABS-CBN's homegrown talents who started in kids and pre-teens' gag show wayback in 1993, "Ang TV" (The TV). airs around 4:30 in the afternoon from Mondays to Fridays. their famous line once their show starts.... "4:30 na, Ang TV na!" (it's 4:30 now, so its time for 'Ang TV'). but of course, Kaye Abad belongs to pre-teens group because she's older than John, while John Prats belongs to kids group.

"Gimik" (The Hangout) was launch on 1995, the teen-drama show that Kaye Abad was one of the cast. tackles about the friendship, family and love. the show was casted with promising stars and the first drama that combine with the Star Magic talents of 1 and 2... and the talent center artists who's grownup talents of abs-cbn like Kaye, Jolina, Patrick and etc.

in 1999, the new 'Gimik' drama was back to its tv after the movie of season 1 cast. but the show has change its new name "G-mik" (shorten because 1999 era was the start of cellphone text formatting.) with its new cast and promising love teams as well. John was casted to the show together with his sister Camille, it was the time where they got introduced with their respective love teams such Heart Evangelista (opposite of John) and Danilo Barrios (opposite of Camille). the flow of the story is still similar with season 1 cast. during the season 2 cast, Kaye Abad already had the hard drama teen show that airs every Sunday. playing one of the lead characters, their show run for 3 years.

Pepper finally found Rei... but her smile suddenly fade when she saw him with someone else. she dont know what she felt on that moment, but she just gather her confidence all over again and face him. telling Monique and Carlo that she needed to talk to Rei in private.

she tells Rei about her friend's plan. letting him know that its not her idea but her friend Jing who made up this idea. Rei agreed on the contrary, but he was doubting that it was Pepper's plan and was only using her friend's name. she tells them that they needed to go this far and pretend as lovers because their fathers were fighting.

later, she touches the flowers and Rei warns her to not touch it. but she wanted to... because she says that these flowers were pretty as her.

Rei: well, you're not pretty... and you dont even smell so good...
Pepper: but im still a good kisser...
Rei: i dont remember you're kissing me...
Pepper: do you want me let you remember? (she cling onto him...)
