Chapter 17:
Sila came walking back in with some cotton he picked up off a little tree.
“Is Kaew awake yet?” asked Sila.
Cheewin looked up back at him, “No, not yet.”
Sila walked toward where Grand was lying. Sila lifted up Grand shirt and looked at where she was stabbed.
Since all of the blood was dried up now, Sila washed it away with water. After that, he ripped a part of his shirt and wrapped it around Grand’s wound.
Sila sighed, “Just hope you’ll get better Grand. When you wake up, I promise to protect you forever. I really mean it this time.”
“Cheewin…”
Sila looked back realizing it was Kaew who was calling Cheewin’s name.
“She’s awake,” said Sila.
Cheewin ran toward Kaew and held her.
“Kaew, are you alright?” asked Cheewin, “Do you hear me?”
“Cheewin…” Kaew whispered. Kaew opened her eyes slowly to find total blurriness.
“Where am I?” asked Kaew.
“At our place…the place where we first met,” said Cheewin.
Kaew looked around for a while. She blinked her eyes a few times so she can see clearly. Kaew looked up at Cheewin.
“Cheewin?” said Kaew.
“Yes,” replied Cheewin.
Tears fell down Kaew’s cheeks as she raised herself to hug Cheewin quickly.
“I’m sorry,” said Kaew, “I can’t believe I forgot you. I never realized how much I have missed you. I love you and I promise never to forget you again.”
“It’s okay,” said Cheewin, “It was my fault I ran away. I should have never run. I never realized how much I love you too.”
Both of them hugged for a while. Sila looked at them and said, “Congrats to both of you. Your love has reunited again.”
The three of them laughed together.
“So…what happened?” asked Kaew.
Cheewin and Sila’s face dropped. Everyone knew that they can’t forgive themselves anymore. Everyone had broken their promises.
“Well…” said Cheewin.
“Here’s how it happened,” continued Sila.
Throughout most of the day, Sila and Cheewin took turns telling Kaew the story of what happened.
“Poor Grand,” said Kaew, “Hope she’s alright.”
“Well,” said Sila, “It’s almost night time. Let’s all go to sleep and tomorrow, we’ll decide what to do next.”
Everyone nodded at one another and went to sleep, except for Sila.
He sneaked out to the front of the cave and looked at the stars.
“Grand,” Sila said, “I hope you get better soon.”
Sila looked back at the stars before going back inside.
When he turned around to look at them, he saw thousands of shooting stars flying past by.
“Wow,” said Sila, “It’s so beautiful. Now I know why Grand like watching the stars so much.”
Sila was about to called Grand, but then he realized that Grand was still sick. Sila sighed.
“I can make wishes right?” asked Sila to himself.
Sila held up his hands and made a wish.
“I wish everything would just end…right now,” thought Sila.

The next morning, Sila woke up to a noise.
“Sila…” said Grand.
“Grand!” said Sila and he rose up quickly.
Sila held Grand on his laps and said, “Are you alright? Do you hear me?”
Grand held her head, “I feel dizzy.”
Sila laid Grand down again. He went over to the bucket of water and dipped in a cloth. Sila went back to Grand and put the wet cloth on top of her forehead.
“I’m so sorry,” said Sila, “I was completely lost. I can’t believe my Master did that to me. He’s so despicable.”
Grand looked up, “It’s not his fault. You guys would have never been like this if it weren’t for us.”
“No,” said Sila, “Don’t make you the bad guys. I love you.”
Tears rolled down Grand’s cheek, “I love you too, but…I don’t know if we’ll ever end up together.”
Grand looked away from Sila.
“Grand, please,” said Sila, “Don’t sacrifice yourself.”
Grand looked back and nodded. She tried to get herself up but her wound still hurts.
“Don’t,” said Sila, “You need to get a lot of rest.”
“Sila, I’m okay,” said Grand, trying to get up.
“No,” said Sila.
“Please,” said Grand, trying to look innocent.
“Alright,” said Sila.
Grand smiled, “Thanks. I want to go outside and watch the scenery. Can i?”
“Alright,” said Sila. He didn’t want to put pressure on Grand.
“Thanks,” said Grand.
“But…I have to carry you,” smiled Sila.
“Fine,” said Grand.
“Get on my back,” said Sila, “I’ll carry you this way. Okay?”
Grand nodded and climbed on his back.
Sila was about to walk out the door, but then he came back to kick Cheewin slightly.
“Cheewin, wake up,” said Sila, “Grand and I are going out for a while. We’ll be back okay. Protect yourself.”
“Alright, alright, Go,” said Cheewin.
Sila laughed and walked out the door.
“Wow,” said Grand, “The scenery is so pretty.”
“You’re all about nature huh?” said Sila.
Grand punched him slightly on the arm.
Both of them laughed together.
“Hey, let’s go sit down over there,” pointed Grand.
“Okay,” said Sila.
Sila laid Grand down by the hill.
“Look at the sun,” said Grand, “It’s still as sunrise. And it’s so beautiful.”
Sila looked at Grand for a while. Then he leaned over and kissed Grand on the cheek.
“Hey, that’s not fair,” laughed Grand.
“What’s not fair?” laughed Sila.
Grand leaned over to kiss Sila on the cheek too.
“Guess what,” Sila said.
“What?” said Grand.
“I’m going to do something even worse,” said Sila.
“Like…?” smiled Grand.
Sila pulled in toward her and held her shoulders. Their lips touched each other softly.
They kissed for a long time and then Grand pulled him away from her.
Grand smiled.
Sila smiled back and said, “I love you.”
“Me too,” replied Grand.
Sila hugged Grand and both smiled happily.

Kaew woke up and Cheewin still haven’t waken up.
“Hmph,” said Kaew, “You are so lazy.”
Kaew shook Cheewin, “Cheewin, wake up.”
He still hasn’t waken up.
“Ugh,” said Kaew. This time she tried to twist his skin.
“Cheewin, wake up,” yelled Kaew.
He still didn’t wake up.
As Kaew turned around, a pair of hands grabbed her and when she knew it, Cheewin was on top of her.
“Get off me,” laughed Kaew.
“No,” said Cheewin, “I need to get you back for hurting me.”
“What do you mean?” asked Kaew.
“Well… you twisted my skin. That hurts,” laughed Cheewin.
“Well…who told you not to wake up?” said Kaew.
Cheewin leaned his head forward and tried to kiss Kaew, but he missed.
Kaew pushed him off of her.
“Come on,” said Cheewin, “Can’t I get a kiss?”
“No,” said Kaew and she turned around, blushing.
Cheewin came behind Kaew and wrapped his arms around her.
“Come on,” said Cheewin, “Please.”
“No,” said Kaew, still blushing.
Cheewin turned Kaew around and held her head to press his lips against hers.
Kaew wrapped her arms around Cheewin, and then pulled him away from her.
Both of them laughed together.
“I hate you,” laughed Kaew.
“I hate you too,” said Cheewin.
Both of them kept on joking around until Sila came running in with Grand on his back.
“What happened?” asked Cheewin.
“Vampires…” said Grand.
“They are here,” said Sila.
