@rae I’m not surprised by that actually. Most artistes at similar age/life stage as him would slowly reduce their work time in showbiz too. Lakorn shooting is extremely time & energy consuming. And you can’t bounce back as easily the next day as you get older.

If the script/role is not very impactful (which, let’s face it, most lakorns aren’t), then that’s a lot of effort for little returns. If Ch7 is ok with his decision to play out the remainder of his contract like this, it basically means they need him more than he needs them. I’m sure if the channel is not ok with and wants to end the contract, Weir would be very ok with that.

He has sort out his priority, he was always reluctant about acting from the beginning but he got Ae Suphacai to push him around and knew how to push his kid to fame.

Channel drama is now dying, nobody wants to watch it anymore, people have streaming platform to show much more interesting content.

Ch3 is re-running old dramas, although they have many new drama in their drawer. Not sure what the strategy there.

Yes… I really don’t get what Ch3 is doing. Plerng Boon is being rerun, but they’re going to start rerunning that Bella & Andrew’s lakorn too. Meanwhile there are completed lakorn which have their on-air date postponed. I already know they’re are slowing down on new drama shooting because they had so many completed but yet to air. But still further postponing broadcast schedule will not help. And even though rerun might get higher ratings than their new dramas, constantly rerunning lakorn does not help! How many Bella’s lakorn need to be rerun? Even though she’s a ratings queen, this will not help!

The biggest solution is getting better scriptwriters, directors, producers and crew who know how to make dramas that today’s audience want to watch. Yesterday the last ep of the final story of Tewaprom aired. But twitter was filled with criticism of the plot not making sense, having deviated from the novel. I didn’t watch any of the Tewaprom dramas yet but I know some of the new stars received some fan hype. There was fan hype for the Kao & PP pairing but they were disappointed with the plot of the drama, p‘ek character deviating from his character in the novel, and not enough air time given to p’ek & n’ek. I had serious deja vu reading the tweets… it’s like Prom Likhit last year. Sigh.

You guy should try (the secret of us) it ch3 first gl series. It’s very straight to the point, no slow burn. Very basic plot but the entertaining enough. I think ch3 hit the jackpot on this one. Even I’m straight but love it. My first gl.

Secret of Us is not Ch3’s first GL series. Their first one was the one with Freen & Becky I think a couple of years back? That was a massive hit, and thus Ch3 made Secret of Us, and I think another one is going to be on air soon. It’s not my thing, but Ch3 seems to have found their niche with GL.

Idk if Gap the series was ch3 first gl but from I’m understanding it made from a different source but air at ch3 network. But for sure TSOU is originally produced by ch3.

It seems CH3 new GL has better coordinations than their normal drama. Straightforward script, better action acting. Faster filming turnover.

How wonderful life is, now you’re in the world.
Skimming & saw this recent interview section with Katy Perry. some things are better off kept private. Tmi in my opinion! This makes me appreciate what growing up in a strict Asian household taught me

I guess as Asian with strict Asian value, there are certain things I would never want to hear discussed publicly.

There was an interesting discussion recently in Pantip, one of the drama producer goes on saying CH3 is shelving most project since there are no advertisement prospect.

She goes on how project only got greenlit when advertiser agreed to buy slot. For that you need big names.

For newbies with less buzz, chances are your project will never see the light of day.
Which for me is a terrible way to assess a project. Shouldn’t they screen it first and see how it goes.

They discuss so many things but one thing for sure they kindda of skirted on the script. Which is the biggest elephant in the room. She admit there is issue with how a project is presented and the end product but doesn’t seems keen on trying to solve they key isssue.

if they keep avoiding that, good luck in getting more viewers. If they can’t solve that one big issue getting big names is not going to help. When is they going to realise it’s good script, direction and editing that make or break a drama.

Wow, if this is the case, CH3 has lost their way in doing business. Release these projects and let the audience decide what is good!! You already spent money and time making the drama and now you choose not to air because there is no advertisement prospect? Well, CH3 that's not the only reason a drama will be a hit. You should know now, every story will catch audiences if the quality is good, if you can't trust viewers, you will fail because we are what you are trying to sell to, not advertisement. That can come second.

It seems CH3 executive ran their project based on trust and favouritism with the producers.

The producers bid on a project based on some plot summary and got their budget, how they will run to project is up to them. No wonder some took so long to complete likeit’s some type of Marvel Universe.

So now the executive had enough and will strict the budget and only go with high- prospect project.

was that why netizens were arguing with pa jaew recently on twitter? I didn’t see what led to it but i was wondering why it was happening all of a sudden.

This basically confirmed what I suspected but could see clearly. The only new shows that are put on air are the ones with their big names. Like Yaya & Tor’s drama is being teased now. I’m sure that’s based purely on Yaya’s star factor (but the trailers don’t make me wanna watch it at all btw). Meanwhile there are completed dramas stuck in deep freeze.

it’s ok to put new projects on hold but at least release the ones already completed? how are they just happy putting reruns on tv just so they can sell ads with those? They already spent money on those completed dramas btw so I really can’t understand why they’re not putting them on air.

Also, wouldn’t one way to get around this problem is by requesting FULL SCRIPT from producers before approving a shoot? And then from there they can estimate if the casting, budget etc is doable?

as we have exhaustively argued, the problem is the producers are old-fashioned and are making shows that they want to make, not what people seem to want to watch. All the biggest stars they have won’t be able to pull advertisers if they are stuck making dramas that viewers don’t care for. See Mark & Yaya’s last drama.

They need to remember, at one point in Nadech, Yaya, and Mark's careers, they had to gamble if they would pull in views. In the end, luckily the audience accepted them. Just like Love Destiny, when it first started, they didn't know it would be such a huge hit. You can't say a already film drama would fail based on ad sales. I feel bad for Ch3, this is old fashion thinking for sure. Come on, move on from Yaya!! There are so many talented girls out there, they are leaving this channel and i am happy they are. Once Yaya and all the other actresses who have big star power like Bella decides to leave, CH3 will flunk because they aren't betting on new talent. This angers me.

That‘s exactly what I’ve been saying for a couple of years now. i already think they have unimaginative scriptwriters, producers… and apparently the management is uncreative too? They currently have a HUGE stable of younger artists there and what are they for if they’re just going to only keep casting their established stars? And showing reruns? Bella is already almost on every ad break but they gotta rerun multiples of her dramas too at the same time? Wtf?

how many times can we watch Yaya or Bella playing cutesy spunky girly characters? Both of them are past 30 now. How many times can we watch their top female stars playing the jilted wife, or the evil mistress in dramas?

if fans want to just watch their stars, there’s social media & YouTube for that. fans still want to watch dramas. its just that Ch3 is not making dramas that fans want to watch.

I watch Masters of the House and Yada was the main lead, she seems to have a management that allows her to be both on streaming and CH3. Which is good, she is good in Masters of the House.

Ploy and Twopee are still together? I feel like Ploy would do so well with a lawyer or a doctor. Someone not in the industry but super passionate about his work and achievements.
It’s discouraging to see Aum, Janie and Ploy be unsuccessful at love because is it not possible to have it all after all?

Aum and Ploy is a stage where they don’t actually need a man.
Janie… not sure about her status with her husband since she doesn’t like blasting it to public.

TBH I don’t think anyone really ever needs a man but I can see that Ploy at least is searching for someone to be at her side and as a fan I really hope she finds what she wants in the healthiest possible setting.

Janie yeah I have no Idea, they are both so public is such a separate way but anything said beyond that would be assumptions.
