I agree with a lot of the opinions on the movie… because I had the same exact thoughts too when I saw the movie. I just wanted to respond to some of the comments.
Toon~ I did get the soundtrack right after I finished the movie. I always planned to get it, but I wanted to see how the music would play in the movie beforehand. Of course, I noticed Bella’s lullaby, but I didn’t recognize the other music. After listening to the soundtrack for a week or so, when I went back to watch Twilight again, then I totally recognized all the music. Like that Rob’s song played in the restaurant when he and Bella were having dinner.
Chinkywinky~
That’s okay, it doesn’t matter how you got into Twilight--- the point is you got into it
Yes, I don't Kristin Stewart as Bella was up to my expectations. Rob is my Edward, but I'm still not convinced that Kristin is my Bella. Seriously, I almost can’t recall what I imagined Edward to look like because only Rob appears in my head. But that doesn't happen with Bella, I'm not seeing Kristin in my head when re-read Twilight. Even from the start, I didn’t get a feeling that Kristin looked like how I imagined Bella. I tried to keep and open mind until I saw the movie, but still don’t connect with her. I know it's awful of me and that's it impossible based on the book, but a tiny little part of me was wishing in the beginning of the movie that Edward didn't end up with Bella. Isn't that horrible? I think the prom scene made up for that a little bit though. The prom scene and the outside dancing was pretty romantic. I felt a little bit happier with Bella when Edward asked her if she just couldn't be happy living a long and happy life with him and she said "Yes, for now." That made me happy for some reason and it made Bella seem a little more realistic.
Azlisakhmer~ And yes, my sisters and I have an issue with how un-feminine Kristin's voice is. She’s kind of got a low raspy voice, which I noticed even before Twilight (when I watched her earlier movie, The Messengers. I noticed it without realizing she's later go on to play this role, so when I found out, I was like-- "What? That's not how Bella's voice sounds like in my head at all!"). I know it's not her fault how her voice sounds like, so it's kind of a mute point, but I would think maybe they could have considered that when making the casting decision? It bothers me as I imagined Bella more feminine and sweet sounding since I’m basically only "hearing" her voice through
all Twilight since it’s from her perspective.
Anyone else thought Bella did alot of huffing and puffing/sighing with her lines, and I feel like she basically said all her lines in one tone of voice? She also looked frightened half the movie too of Edward (even though she wasn't supposed to be). Like when they had the talk in the forest and Edward said: "Are you afraid?" It looked like she was AFRAID to me! I thought she might pass out from fright or something. Bella in the book is pretty much fearless of Edward even though he's scared he'll hurt her. I didn't get that from Kristin Stewart.
YAY donna!!!!! You finally saw Twilight!!!! I agree, Taylor Laurent doesn’t match his long hair. I was wishing they did something to his hair too. I think “Embry” looks good with his hair—but it might be because it’s real hair.
But then again.... Jame's had a wig on too and he looked good.
Anyone know what that they actually considered giving Edward looong hair?? They even tried wigs on Rob and it didn't look good on him apparently. This is noted in the "Twilight" movie companion book.
I liked that scene where Edward’s biting Bella too when she’s doing her google search. Sexy!!!
