Chapter 11
The caravan had finally arrived at their destination, the Kingdom of Wasuthep. Like the Kingdom of Morakot, the Kingdom of Wasuthep was lively and bustling with many people. Businesses were up and going and life seemed to be steady for the Wasuthep people. Little did these people know that there would be a war in the meantime. Prin and Nadech couldn't imagine how all of these innocent people would be affected."Oy! Oy, my stomach hurts!" Rath exclaimed suddenly.
Prin and Nadech turned to look at him. He seemed perfectly normal.
"Bpen rai wa?" Nadech asked him.
"My stomach hurts," replied Rath. "I've got to find a bathroom."
Prin and Nadech laughed. Nadech jumped off his horse and helped Rath down.
"I'm not sure where...
Before Prin could even finish his sentence, Rath took off like a canon.
"What the hell's up to him?" asked Nadech, scratching his head. "Should we wait?"
"No," replied Prin. "We're blocking the streets. Let's go ahead and proceed into the palace. I'll have someone to come fetch Aie Rath later."
Nadech nodded and the army marched into the royal palace of Wasuthep.
Rath looked behind him carefully to make sure that no one followed him. He came to a corner of the gated palace and approached two guards. When Rath tried to enter, the guards held out their spears in an "X" to stop him.
"What do you think you're doing kid?" asked a guard.
"Can't you tell who I am, you moron?" asked Rath. "I am Princess Urassaya!"
Both guards studied Rath carefully and kneeled before her.
"Your Highness," said the guards. "We apolo...
Princess Urassaya shook her head and dashed into the palace. She had to make it back to her chamber and change into her princess attire before Prin and Nadech's crew entered the court. It was very important that she was presence during the two kingdoms' reconciliation.
When Princess Urassaya reached her chamber, two maids were standing exiting it.
"Nang Cheun, Nang Pitt," Urassaya called out to them.
Nang Cheun and Nang Pitt immediately recognized the boy in front of them. They fell to their knees and bowed their heads down.
"Get up!" exclaimed Urassaya.
They both got up at once.
"Is Morakot's army here yet?" she asked them.
Nang Cheun and Nang Pitt exchanged quizzical looks and shook their heads.
"Why do you ask such a question, Your Highness?" asked Nang Pitt.
"Nothing, nevermind," said Yaya. "Quick, help me to change into my clothes!"
Though they were both a bit confused and excited at the sudden return of their princess, they followed her into the chamber and did as they were told. Nang Cheun went to fetch Princess Urassaya's clothes while Nang Pitt helped the princess strip out of the boy clothes.
"This is it," said Nadech, turning to Prin.
They both got off their horses and motioned for their small accompanying army to do the same. Phra Jao Mata and Prince Natthawut of Wasuthep walked down the steps of the court and approached the Morakot army, who all immediately paid their respects to the two royal figures.
"Rise," said Jao Mata.
Prin and Nadech rose but the rest of the army remained on their knees.
"I, Prin of Morakot, has been sent by His Highness Phra Jao Sompohb of Morakot to present this gift to settle the border dispute between the two kingdoms," said Prin. "Hopefully, Morakot and Wasuthep are still friends."
King Mata laughed and Prince Natthawut slightly smiled.
"I see you both are no ordinary Morakot citizens," the King said to Prin and Nadech.
They all stared at Prin and Nadech from head to toe. Even though they had been in Morakot for a while, Prin and Nadech still wore 21st century clothes and sported the 21st century hairstyle.
"We are actually not from Morakot," replied Prin.
"We are rather foreign outcasts that Phra Jao Sompohb saved," said Nadech. "We are only here to fulfill our duties that have commanded by His Highess, the King."
"And you both are doing a rather splendid job," said Phra Jao Mata. "I shall not keep you friends standing here. Let us proceed into the palace."
Prin and Nadech looked at each other and nodded. They both followed the King and Prince into the royal court and awaited for the rest of the officials to assemble. Prin and Nadech took their places and watched on as the court began to fill up. Stepping onto the King's left side of the throne was a beautiful young woman probably nearing her 20s. She looked elegant and sweet. It didn't take Nadech long to realize that the princess very much resembled their good friend, Aie Rath. Nadech nudged Prin in the ribs to get his attention.
"What," said Prin.
"The princess," began Nadech. "She looks so familiar, don't you think?"
Prin glanced at Princess Urassaya.
"She does," said Prin. "Maybe because we've seen her picture in the history books."
"No," said Nadech. "I think she looks a lot like...like Aie Rath!"
"Aie Rath?" asked Prin, trying to see the resemblance. "No, I think you're thinking too much. Aie Rath is a young boy and Princess Urassaya is a young woman of high honor. She's a princess."
"But...
The fanfare music had interrupted Nadech. Phra Jao Sompohb entered the court again and took his seat at the throne. Even though all of the attention was on Nadech now, he couldn't get his eyes off Princess Urassaya.
"Why is he staring at me?" Princess Urassaya thought to herself.
She found it funny that Nadech just sat there and stared at her the whole time. He seemed very dreamy looking. Actually, he appeared handsome from her view. Out of nowhere, she slightly snorted. Her brother, Prince Natthawut must've noticed because he turned to look at her.

"I think that there's something fishy about that princess," Nadech told Prin after they were dismissed from the court session. "She was staring at me the whole time.""Seems like you were staring at her the whole time too," said Prin.
"I did not," said Nadech.
"Well how did you know she was staring at you the whole time?" asked Prin, smartly. "If you didn't look at her, how did you know she looked at you?"
Nadech was silent. He felt like a total doofus. Of course, it was common sense.
"Oy!" he exclaimed.
"What's wrong now?" asked Prin.
"I want to go home," said Nadech. "I can't live here any longer. It's so awkward!"
"I want to go home as much as you do," said Prin. "But, we've got to carry out and fulfill Phra Jao Sompohb's orders."
"When is it going to be over?" asked Nadech. "I don't want to live in history forever."
"History is always changing," said Prin. "It's never going to be over."
Prin stared into the distance at the sun on horizon. They had to stay in the Kingdom of Wasuthep overnight and set out back to Morakot the next day. Even though Wasuthep accepted Morakot's gift of alliance, Prin and Nadech knew that that was not the original intention Wasuthep kept to. There was much more to it than that. Accepting the gift was only to diverge Morakot's suspicions that Wasuthep was breaking the alliance.
